In control panel, most laptops and desktops have mutliple display drivers. One is the default driver to suite your VGA board and one will be a driver for low resolution, (safe mode for instance when Windows does not load many drivers).
Check the Function key and F5. On a lot of laptops the Function keys enable and indeed disable the laptop screen.
Look for a drawing of a screen on the F keys and press FN key at the same time.
Hope that fixes your dilema.

Your problem is most likely a back light fault. this is caused by a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link to determine the fault and fix :-

My notebook Asus W7J BLANK when is turn on

Screen not working
are you able to hear the windows log in?
if you do but no image, most likelly your video card is ruined. overheated or dropped maybe? don't worry is bad but not that bad, there is a way to fix that by a professional.
take it to a computer repair shop and have them check the video card ask if they have a rework station or someone who may. they have to unsolder about 50 pins at the same time get a new card and solder it again.
sometimes they apply heat to it and it will work again but for just a few days maybe weeks but it goes bad again. so replacement is the best option.
I used to charge about 200 bucks but you may be able to ask for a rebate.
do not take it to a major computer store they would tell you there is no repair so you can go in and get a new computer

My Asus EeePC 900 won't boot up. The lights come on when I press the power button, but the screen remains blank. I can't hear the machine powering up either. I've tried several things that I've read on...

You possibly could connect it to a monitor or tv to see if it shows up on there. But, yea sounds like you have an internal problem with the screen disconnected.

Asus laptop - screen went blank and will not turn back on

I'm assuming your screen shows nothing at all, even the bios or boot screen as it turns on.

If you can hook it up to an external monitor then your video adapter is working. Try using the vga output on the laptop. If it doesn't show anything use you display select feature. I'm not sure what button it is on your laptop but on mine it is Fn+F8 (look for a button that shows a laptop and/or a rectangle).

If you can see it with an external monitor, you should try to uninstall and reinstall the video adapter. After you reboot the computer hopefully it will work.

However, if it still does not work, you will probably need to reseat the monitor cable. Do this by opening the screen panel. on the back is a flat cable tat plugs in to the LCD. This is usually covered by tape. Carefully remove the tape, unplug the cable and plug the cable back in. Don't forget to replace the tape!
I have fixed two computers in the last two weeks by reseating this cable.

Hope this helps and good luck!

Asus Laptop Not Tunring On

Try using an external monitor to see if it's the laptop screen, if it works your screen or backlight is dead.
