I had no clue until just now that my Simplicity bassinet was a 3 in 1 deal. I have no instructions and haven't been able to find any online. It's already assembled into bassinet mode, but I have no clue how to use the "triad" as the warning label calls it, to attach it to my bed and I'm curious as to how it converts into a changing table and if it really does have a drop down side as advertised online, because I can't figure the darned thing out. Please help me out before my baby is born in a month and I have no clue how to use it properly.
Hi. i have those directions. i have model no. 3013 pro. this can be found on the mattress support. if it is the same type of bed attachment, then here are the directions (if it isn't the same then it gives you a general idea of how it works)
converting to a bedside sleeper
remove canopy from bassinet.
unsnap the fabric and remove the removable cross tube from the bassinet frame
fold the Velcro panel down over the support bar and tuck under fabric bottom
position the retainer plate on the side of the bed opposite where the bedside sleeper will be, thread the retainer strap through the space between the mattress and box spring. make sure retainer plate is vertical and flush against the mattress and box spring.
connect the strap ends to the snap connectors on the support tube. bassinet must be pulled snugly along side of the bed.
if that isn't right, here is their support number: 18008588323.
hope it works.
I have the same model bassinet. Just thought I'd let you all know that it has been recalled. Contact Toys'R'Us because the manufacturer went bankrupt & the co. that bought it won't take responsibility for the 900,000 bassinets that were affected. They have been recalled due to 2 infant deaths in less than 1 year caused by the bassinet.
Please note, Simplicity has gone out of business and the Simplicity Bassinets should NOT be used. They were sold at Walmart, Target and BabiesRUs. The word on the street is that Walmart is the easiest to deal with when it comes to returning them. Those who wish to return Simplicity cribs don't need a receipt, they can just take them to Walmart for store credit. BabiesRUs was apparently giving about $65 while Walmart was closer to $190. Again, this is just what I have heard from others.
You can find the specific information on the Simplicity recall here:
Six Retailers Agree To Stop Sale and Recall Simplicity Bassinets Due To Strangulation Hazard
I would pack it up, take it in for store credit, and get a new crib!
You can get some great deals these days on bassinets, there's a great one on Amazon for $130 so it's kind of a no-brainer. Here's one of the top rated:
Kolcraft Contours Classique 3-in-1 Bassinet
As I have heard, Walmart will take it back, no questions asked and no receipt necessary and you can get a brand new one with brand new parts, brand new instructions and no recalls or risks!
Good Luck.
