sony part no.1-810-374-11 s indicator tube module, fluores. This is information about part you need to fix that. You will be able to replace that, but you need to disconect front desk ( there are two screw from left and right said, and two above ). It`s little bit hard to remove that, but you will find the way. Audio level meter ( modul fluores ) have two screw from front said, pull it trow yourself, and you will see two flat cable. When you disconect them, that modul fluores will be free.Take off that protection ram and put on new modul. And put everything back on right place.Board can be fixed if you have any experience.
UVW-1800 error 02-694 indicates a problem with one or both reel motors. check the cables going to both motors; have seen failures related to these cables.
02-874 error code signifies a defective takeup reel. The reel is not winding the tape in, so the deck won't go through the eject procedure. Check the connection to the takeup reel motor; if that's OK, the motor itself may be bad. Rarely, the takeup reel motor assembly will need to be replaced; usually it's a connection problem.
I just found this post on another site :
tsvservice- 29th Jun 2007 14:0109-221 is "failure to complete threading within the specified time". in plain talk, the mechanism in the deck that threads the tape around the heads is not working. this could be a bad motor, bad gear, or even a bad tape.
Digital tapes should still eject normally (they are the same size and shape) which indicates that it has jammed somewhere inside.
If you want to fix it yourself you will have to remove the cover and check the tape.
If the cassette hasn't spooled up and all the tape is inside the cassette you should be able to unscrew the carriage (the cradle that takes the tape in and down) and remove it that way.
If the tape has spooled around the heads there is a cog (can't remember the exact position of it) arranged vertically near the side of the machine that you can manually wind the spooling arms back into the cassette.
check your tape deck unit throughly check for any physical damage of REWIND/FORWARD Gears.and FLY Wheel.
and dis locateion of some lever positions.
defnitly you get solved
If it still works the capacitors on board attached to the display are going bad. Replace any that have corrosion on the solder joints and clean up the corrosion while your at it. If it quit working altogether there is also a fuse or ICP on that board that typically blows too.
