When I turn my mini on, I get to the Windows welcome screen and it stops there. Is there anything I can do?

Try booting the laptop up in safe mode. Upon booting up press the F8 key until it opens up an option for safe mode. If you then do get the laptop to load up to windows go into the My Computer and right click on the hard drice icon and go down to properties. You will then click on the Tools tab and then run the Check Disk option. It will ask you to reboot the laptop so it can run the check disk. Hopefully this will fix the issue. If for some reason it doesnt go back into safe mode and scan your laptop for any possible infections with your anti virus.

Try pushing no. Your windows version hasn't been Activated. Use your activation key when you get booted up. Is this a Windows OS upgrade? A reinstall? It would be helpful if you posted the Make and model of Laptop and the OS you are using.

Dell inspiron mini 10 Turn it on, put in password. screen says windows did not start up sucessfully. A recent hardware or software change may have caused this. then i go to the last known good...
A blue screen with white writing appears on my computer,
just before windows is about to begin and it reads:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut
down to prevent damage to your computer.

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error
screen restart you're computer.
If this screen appears again follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is
properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask
your hardware/software manufacturer for any windows
updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly
installed hardware/software. Disable BIOS memory options
such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe
mode to remove or disable components, restart your
computer, press F8 to select advanced startup options,
and then select safe mode.

I cannot go into windows even in safe mode, and I don't
know how to execute any of the other things it's telling
me to do.

It may have something to do with my virtual memory as
windows had to increase it while I was playing a computer
game, or because I added some extra pictures I downloaded
to a computer game folder where the default pictures were
already stored.
if u cant do these then reinstall the operating system.

My mini 10 notebook goes to a black screen after the welcome screen. the only way i can access anything is on safe mode...help
From the information described, it appears that your Operating System is corrupted. I would suggest either with a System restore. You can also start fresh and re-format the hard drive with a fresh install of Windows. I hope this has helped

When it seems to have finished "booting up", press Ctrl-Shift-Esc to try to bring up the Task manager. If it allows you to do that, click the "New Process" button and enter "explorer.exe". If Windows is not damaged, this will give you back the Windows "shell" you are used to.
