Husqvarna ST927E snow blower. The mounting bracket for the auger end of the auger engagement cable is broken off. This is a 1998 model so the mounting bracket is welded not bolted. I see the new parts lists are using a bolted bracket so I would think this is a problem many others must have had.

Obtain the new bracket and drill holes in the old bracket remainder to allow mounting of the new bracket over the top of the old part. You may have to do a little grinding on the old part to allow flush mounting of the new part. Apply a little grease or some paint to protect the damaged metal. Hope this helps!

Replaced a broken auger control cable on my 536.881400 snow thrower, but now the auger engage lever cannot be fully pulled back.

possible that is the problem
see if you can move the end of the cable closer down the handle (control lever) to give it enough length
check how you fitted the cable and the spring may fit in a hole on the other side of where you put the cable end

How do i tighen the belt

Not sure what machine you have OR which belt you want to tighten Assuming it is the Auger Belt and you have a cable pull type auger engager then you can take the plastic cover off (by the chute), loosen the Bolt of the Idler pulley and move t toward the belt a bit. That Bracket has a slot in it for adjusting belt tension.

My Husqvarna snowblower is grinding when the auger is engaged and it will not throw snow.

Most snow blowers have "Shear Pins' that connect the blade to its drive shaft. These 'shear' off when hitting rocks or other debris that gets caught in the blade. Check those and by new Shear pins. If it is not that, then you have problems in the gear box, or shifting mechanisms.

What is required to attach a MTD Snowblower model 190-032 to a ty4000 lawn tractor

That looks like a Cub Cadet part # for the Snow Blower.
You will absolutely need to customize a Belly bracket and Mule drive. Possibly find a Cub Cadet belly bracket and modify it to match your mounting points on the TY4000

Auger

Hi Brenda,

This machine makes use of two levers on the handle. The right controls the drive and the left controls the auger. When both are released, the drive wheels and the auger should stop. The impeller (the part inside that pushes snow up and out of the chute) will run as long as the motor is running and not controlled by the levers.

You said the auger continues to spin even when the lever is released. Both levers are connected by a flexible, thin, steel cable that extends down to a "wheel" or pulley assembly that is held in place by two hex nut bolts to the rear (operator position) corners of the machine. The steel cable should be ON the wheel - not hanging in free air and not wedged between the pulley and pulley support. Loosening the bolts and adjusting the pulley UPWARD should reduce tension / provide SLACK required to disengage the auger when the lever is released (adjust for a *small* amount of slack only). Positioning the pulley DOWNWARD increases tension that reduces the amount travel the lever needs to ENGAGE the auger. The pulley assembly position needs to be adjusted so that when the lever is released, the auger shuts off, and when squeezed, the auger turns on. These same adjustment procedures can be used for the DRIVE lever control, too.

If you are unable to adjust the cable so that there is a little slack, then there is a problem with the cable at the other end - inside the machine. It will require someone who is mechanically inclined - or snow blower serviceman to adjust / repair this for you if you lack the tools and understanding to do the work yourself. It is not likely to be an expensive repair, however. You should ask for an estimate or be given the opportunity to authorize repairs before they are started.

I hope this helps and good luck!

I have a 30" husqvarna snow blower. 1 year old. The auger belt is really loose and keeos slipping off the main pully and smoking like crazy. I replaced with a new belt and still had the same problem. Any...

Page 17, figure 23 of the manual shows a "Clutching Idler Arm Bracket" that should take up slack. Does it have a broken spring, or is it seized because of ice or rust? The very top of the page does mention that the belts aren't adjustable, but why else is the idler arm there if not as a tensioner?

Augers engaging when not engaged

The cable needs to be re-adjusted for the auger. At one end or the other there should be a threaded section with 2 nuts ( 1 on either side of the frame or bracket), to adjust the tension on the idler pully for the auger. Loosen the 2 nuts then tighten up on the nut that brings the threaded end closer to the end of the cable. Then snug up the back nut and see if the auger still turnswhen you start up the blower. Only loosen a little at a time so that you dont make it to loose
