I have a Marantz turtntable, a Marantz CD player, an Eltax tape player and a Marantz amplifier with two Cambridge speakers, how do I wire them up please.

If you have a pure amplifier, there may only be one set of inputs, and one or two pairs of speaker outputs. The inputs are probably RCA plugs. Connect the CD or tape player to these. The speaker outputs are typically heavier binding posts or wire clamps. Each speaker should have one pair of wires. One for the 'Red' post, another for the 'Black' post.

If you have a 'Receiver' you will have several inputs to use and switches in front to select them. The CD and tape can be plugged into either tape, CD, or Aux inputs. (Not 'Phono') The speakers hookup is the same as for the amplifier.

You may also want to google the make-model of your amp to find a manual....

I just brought clarion cd player had it fitted by vauxhall dealer and when i put the key in the ignition turn key to aux cd wo'nt come on but when you turn the key to start engine cd player...

Sounds like the unit was not wired into the car properly..the dealer needs to make sure that the switched lead that they connect the red wire from the radio to is hot when in both run and aux(accessory) positions on the ignition switch...it sounds like they may have wired the switched lead to the wrong accessory lead

Do not know how to connect my kappa 60.5cs to my pioneer cd player do they have to go through an external amp?what do i do with the power plugs on the oppisite side why are there 2 per speaker

You need to run RCA cables from the CD player to the CD or AUX input on your amp / receiver unit. If you have a standalone amp, you need some way to control the volume. Basically, if you have a volume control on the front of your amp, you're OK. If not, you should also have a preamplifier that the CD player feeds first.

From the amplifier, then, a single pair of speaker outputs feeds a single pair of inputs on your speakers. The reason for two jack sets on the speakers is for "bi-wiring" or "bi-amping", not necessary for basic stereo reproduction.

So -

CD red/white RCA out -> preamp/receiver red/white CD/AUX input. Amp speaker output (red + / black -) to one red/black input pair on the speakers. An input on the speaker is side by side...

Keep the red to red, black to black when connecting the speakers, or you will wind up with poor sound and weak bass.

I just bought some speakers and a receiver, cd player no instructions, how do i connect it myself

- Use a cinch- cable (red&white) to connect the cd player to the input (often called CD or AUX) of the receiver
- Use standard speaker cable (two copper wires per wire) to connect each speaker to one speaker-output on the receiver
- Plug in the power cables
- Select the right input (or source) on the receiver
- Voila! Press play on the cd player and sound should come out!

Can i connect ipod adaptor to rca output jacks?

With out an input jack you cannot connect straight to your head unit. The RCA out puts only send a signal out. Your best bet is use an FM transmitter for your Ipod. The sound wont be as good but I can't think of another way with buying a new head unit.

Need a diagram to hook my Bose CinemaT speakers. When I hook it directly to the tv no problem but can't figure out how to hookup my reciever and CD player to work also? Help Please

You'd be better off hooking the speakers to the RECEIVER'S speaker outputs, THEN hooking your TV audio output to an unused receiver input, such as AUX. The signals from your receiver cannot reach the TV; thus your CD player and radio will not play through the speakers if the speakers are hooked to the TV. All receiver INPUTS are designed to accept the same signal level; thus, you can use any input for your TV audio, such as Aux, DVD, CD, etc. Just remember which input you're using for the TV audio, and everything should work fine. Almost all receivers have an AUX input; hopefully yours also has a dedicated CD input to avoid confusion. The you simply select the AUX input to hear your TV through the speakers.
