The paper size in your word processor is set to legal and you have letter size in the printer. To fix this first change the paper size in your word processor program to what you are using in the printer. Then clear the print jobs in the printer the procedure is explained in the printers guide you can download the guide pdf from cannon.

Red alarm keep coming to my (Canon imageCLASS MF5770 Multifunction Printer) and display message: CHECK PAPER SIZE AND CHANGE PAPER SIZE CASSETTEL LTR. please guid me through steps. thanks!!

Chances are the paper size in the cassette doesn't match the paper size (or alignment) that you've tried to print. Verify the paper and alignment of the paper match what you're trying to print, and that the paper guides in the cassette are locked into position for the size and alignment you're working with.

Have canon mf5700 says check paper size. Powering off doesn't help Changing trays does not help. After powering on again it prints a test page and then gives the warning again.

You need to remove paper tray, and unplug canon. Leave it this way overnight, and in the morning, reinsert the paper tray, and plug back it. This should effectively reset the machine, and clear that error. It worked for me!

Alarm light is on it says( check paper size) this is a canon mf57700

I had this problem also. I was unable to clear the paper size error. Finally I loaded the papersize that the printer was wanting (A4 in my case) and let it print. Once the print job finished it was back to working normal.

Have canon mf5700 says check paper size and only prints one page of several page job

If your alarm light is flashing and your printer will not print, press the "copy" button to get the device into the copy mode, once the copy button light is on, press the "Status Monitor" button. The LED panel will then show two lines of words: Line 1 "COPY STATUS" and Line 2 "SELECT JOB TO CANCEL"; then hit the Set button and the screen will show you what print job which has jammed the printer and you then press the - (Minus) button to clear the job. Open and close the front panel and the printer should reset and the warning light go off.
I had trouble locating the problem because my machine tends to stay on the Fax mode and when I pushed the Status Monitor button I would only get information about fax jobs.
Hope you have already figured out the problem. I thought I had better tell someone so I will remember the next time I try to print a job which requires a different size paper than what I have in my printer.
Blessings!
