Eureka model 4335 - belt removal (top cover)

Hi.  There are 16 different models of Eureka 4335, and frankly I don't know how much difference there is between them.  You can download a copy of the user manual from the website below.
If that doesn't work for you, please re-post - stating exactly which model you've got, and I'll guide you through it.
Good luck. If this has helped, please remember to rate me!

Which is the best caprpet steam cleaner mid priced?

I would recommend the Hoover brand. The Bissell's are very problematic, they have belts that break and issues with the heating elements. Hoover Steam Cleaners can be repaired and are simple to use. The price range is generally $180 - $300

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. In order to get @ the belt on the Bissell, there should be screws, levers, or clips to remove the bottom plate and either the bottom plate will come off of the top cover will come off depending on if it is an older or newer model #. Also you can refer to the Bissell owner’s manual trouble shooting manual for tips on changing the belt as well. If not you can get an owner’s manual from the Bissell factory website or phone # listed below. If you have further questions please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area, or contact the Hoover website and or the cust serv phone # @ Hoover listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Eureka Altima is smoking!
Posted by saysay on May 18, 2008
Help! My vacuum is smoking. It won’t work anymore and starts to smoke as soon as it gets turned on.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.

Eureka Altima Upright Vacuum Model #2996AVS – it is probably doing 2 things, it could be the belt and or brushroll and the easiest ay to check is to remove the belt and see if the motor smokes, if the motor is fine then buy a new belt and check the brushroll to see if the brushroll spins freely, there are bearings in the brushroll and thread and hair get bound up in the ends and needs to be cleaned out. So #1, check the belt – no smoke from the motor then check the brushroll to see if it spins freely then changed the belt. If the motor smokes check your purchase date it may still be under the one year factory warranty from the dop. #2. Either clean or replace the brushroll and belt. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact your local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

You can buy Bissell products @ your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area in the yellow pages, or you can check the Bissell factory service number listed below or the Bissell website. Sometimes you can use other products (low sudsing) from other machines such as the Rug Doctor, Thermax, Hoover, Eureka etc.,
