NEC LT35 Multimedia Projector Logo
Posted on Dec 01, 2010

Hello. My Nec LT35 projector will not turn on. From standby mode, I hit the power button, the power LED turns green, the fan starts, but after two seconds it switches back to standby. The "Lamp" LED is off at all times. ...Now the strange part... If I hit the power button again, shortly after the machine has returned to standby, then the power light will turn solid green again, BUT this time the status LED flashes green on a .5sec on, .5sec off cycle 61 times, before returning to standby mode. The user manual says that this means the lamp is striking... It just never happens. I had received no bulb life warnings, but have now replaced the bulb and the problem persists, so I think maybe I have to clear the "bulb life hours" in the machine's memory. The manual states that I can do this by holding down the "Help" button on the remote for 10 seconds. I'll know it's worked when the "Lamp" LED goes out. ...But the "Lamp" LED's been OFF the whole time! Do I hold down the "Help" button while the machine is in standby mode (Power LED static Orange), or whilst the lamp is trying to strike (Power LED static green, Status LED flashing green)? Is there some other hardkey shortcut to totally reset the machine? I need the projector for a gig tomorrow, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, -Taylor.

I have the exact same error with same projector. did you manage to solve this?

I've had no success trying to get this projector to work. Replacing the lamp did not help. Holding down the ":Help" button on the remote control for ten seconds to reset the lamp counter didn't help, but may help you The_Chu2000.
I believe I may have to download the BIOS, connect the projector to a computer, and reinstall the operating software into the projector... But I've no idea how to do this. Any advice?

unfortunately i have no idea how to do that, but it seems worthwhile to try. i'll do some research on the topic

Dear Sir, I have a NEC LT 260 K Lcd projector. The lamp of the lcd was busted.I replaced it with a new lamp. After replacing the lamp the lamp is not lighting when projector is put ON, I think the...

the clicking sound hopefully is the high voltage trying to start the lamp, but for some reason there may be a connection problem between the lamp and the projector power supply.
take the lamp out.

look at the lamp and check that the 2 connecting plugs are ok.
then look inside the projector at the power sockets that connect to the lamp (when it's installed).
check that the pins are not damaged or pushed down too far to prevent the lamp plugs making a proper connection with the power sockets in the unit.

I have a nec vt560 and the power light stays orange and the status light is off until buttons are pressed. bottom line is...i cant get the projector to come on...the power light never turns green.

The projector is in standby mode, which is a good sign.
When you press the ON button for "at least 2 seconds or more", what happens.

Do any lights come on at all?

I have a NEC mt1055 and the unit just had new bulb put in here and it has the power and standby light come on and the fan doesn't turn on here and the standby light is yellow and status is red

The NEC’s work on a reducing time basis, they count the hours that they have been operational and refer to this as the life of the bulb – 1600 hours. When the 1600 hours has been reached the projector shuts itself down into standby mode never to be restarted even after changing the bulb / filters. This is because the unit needs to be reset, which needs to be done as follows (not included in any of the bulb replacement instructions):-
  • Plug Projector in so it is in standby mode – Orange light lit, Red status light lit (not flashing)
  • Using the remote control, hold down the power off button for 30-45 seconds
  • This will reset the status button, removing the red light
  • Power up the projector and select Menu
  • Select Projector Options
  • Select Set-up – a number of tabs will appear called pages
  • Arrow across the pages (MT850 is Page 5) until an option called “RESET LAMP HOURS” is shown
  • Move onto this option and press enter on the projector itself, confirm that you want to reset the counter
  • Projector is now back to life

This works for all NEC projectors, the page number may be different though where the “RESET LAMP HOURS” option resides.

What does it mean when that blinking green light turns to orange one in lp 350?

Hi
This would be "Standby"
When you press standby, the display and audio turn off and a blank screen is displayed for 15 minutes.
You can change the amount of time the projector stays in standby mode; see “Standby Time” on page 27 for details.
The LED lights orange while the projector is in standby.
• If you press standby again within 15 minutes, the projector returns to normal operations immediately. The LED changes from orange to green.
• If you press standby again after 15 minutes, there is about a 60 second delay before the lamp turns back on. The LED flashes green while the lamp is re-lighting.
• If you don’t press standby again, the lamp turns off after 15 minutes. The LED lights orange while the projector is in standby.

I hope these help
