Our casablanca ceiling fan has power going to the fan and the remote works but the fan does not nor does the light

Our Casablanca fan has worked for years but today we have the same problem.
The remote has new batteries, the circuit breaker is fine but we can't get the fan or light to turn on.
I wonder if a rodent has not chewed on the wires in the attic or if the high humidity this summer in eastern Ontario may have something to do with it.
What can I do to try to solve this problem myself?

I have two Casablanca ceiling fans. I have power at the fan, but neither the fan or the light come on. The fans were at another house, I removed them and installed them at another house, and this is when they stopped working. There is 120V at the fan, What do you recommend I do?

If you have the intelitouch system, It's probably the circuit board in the fan. Casablanca has great motors but touchy boards. I ordered mine from www.fanmanlighting.com and installed it myself, it wasn't too difficult. Hope this helps

Shut off breaker for five minutes then turn back on. Within 20 seconds push the high then medium then low fan buttons. Wait 10 seconds and see if that resets the receiver. If not, find a new remote kit.

If you have power at the fan I would suspect you have a bad pc board.

SOURCE: Intell-Touch instructions for casablanca fan/light

Light Operation: With the light in the off position press and hold the light button (do not let go). The lights should start at a dim setting and gradually get brighter and brighter. When they get to a setting you desire let go of the light button. To reduce the brightness of the light you must first turn the light off, and then press the light button and hold it in as described above. If the light is off, and you press the light button quickly to turn it on, the light will go back to the previous setting. So if you last had the light on the high setting, it will go back to the high setting, if you had the light at a lower setting it will turn back on to the lower setting. Keep in mind you can increase the light intensity at any time by pressing and holding the light button, but to decrease the light intensity, you must first turn the light off, and start over by pressing and holding in the light button.
Fan Operation: With the fan in the off position, press and hold the fan button (do not let go). The fan should start at a slower speed and get faster and faster. When the fan is at the speed you desire, let go of the fan button. To slow down the fan speed you must first turn the fan speeds off by pressing and releasing the fan button. If the fan speeds are off, and you press the fan button quickly to turn it on, the fan will go back to the previous setting. So if you last had the fan at the highest setting, it will go back to the high setting, if you had the fan at a lower setting it will turn back on to the lower setting. Keep in mind you can increase the fan speed at any time by pressing and holding the fan button, but to decrease the fan speed you must first turn the fan off, and start over by pressing and holding in the fan button.

SOURCE: i have a Casablanca "trident"

Hello Duke,

I'm guessing you have a "prime touch" remote control system. I'm not exactly sure whats going on but the W-505 Prime Touch receiver in the fan is the brains of the system. They sell replacement W-505 parts at Fan Man Lighting.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: My Casablanca ceiling fan model

Hi, my name is Shaun. Welcome to FixYa. I have been an electrician for 6 years, and I have to say that your troubleshooting skills are impressive. Looks like you have covered all the bases. So, to answwer your question, the problem is most likely, yes, your reciever in the fan, unless the transmitter has been dropped or damaged in some way. Recievers rely on transitors to close the higher voltage circuits to turn on the lights and fan, and these tend to burn out occasionally. I believe you can buy wireless kits from Home Depot or Lowes that include both transmitter and reciever. In the meantime, you can rewire your fan and light to operate from the switch if you have pullchains or seperate switches for light/fan. If you do and you would like me to walk you through this process, reply to this answer. Hope this helps out. Have a good one!

Call Casablanca @ 1-800-715-0393. It could be a bad light kit ( which can be replaced) or bad receiver.
