Dear Sir,
Unless you are a repair technician, please do not try to open / service the equipment because there is a risk getting fatal electric shocks.
Do not touch any part inside when the VCR power is plugged on.
If you have VOM, try this. Check Power Cable & AC outlet are ok by VOM on AC range.
If your VCR has provision for DC batteries, them check at back of VCR for DC/AC switch. Keep it on AC & check.
Check if your VCR is in warranty or not/ take it to the service center.

Maybe the switch to turn on,, is defected already thats why,it will not turn on ,this the most common problem also, this only tacking switch, find a technician to do repair to and to change spare parts , in order,to avoid high voltage shock...
Best place is to send back to the company service center
