DOCUMATE 510 ALL DOCS SCANNED HAVE A LINE AT THE TOP HAVE TRIED CLEANING ROLLERS TO NO AVAIL. HOW TO GET RID OF LINE?

The solution above is correct, but note that the marks are ON THE GLASS, not the part of the scanner that flips up.

Check on the flat bed part along the top. there are two white strips that go side to side. the top white strip is wider than the bottom strip right underneath it. On the thinner of the two strips, check for small black marks, can be very small. This creates a black line in the document. You can clean it with a fingernail & a tissue

My Xerox DocuMate 510 scanner has a flashing warning light.

Finally made it through to the technical support line. The problem is created by the cable from the lid to the body of the scanner not seating properly. You have to work the connection back and forth for half a minute while pressing it very firmly then screw in the attachments as tightly as possible. I am now scanning...

My Xerox Documate 510 adds a line from top to bottom down each scanned document. The line only appears when something is fed into the paper feeder and does not happen when scanned single sheet at a time on...

you probably have something on the scanning bulb when it goes through the feeder. The scanning bulb is directly to the left of where you use the flatbed. Clean that glass with a dry, clean cloth and you should be back in business.

Documate 510 scanner ADF problem

If the feed rollers are worn out beyond the point of cleaning, you will need to have the scanner serviced or replaced.

XEROX DOCUMATE 510

The rollers and retard pad need replaced.
The rollers are self explanitory, the retard pad is so named to retard the feed of multiple sheets of paper.
That is your problem.
