I have an Acer all in one computer and cannot find where to insert a dvd

My Acer has the disk drive almost at the top. The button to open the disc is on the right side of the computer at the same level where the disc is.

Depending on which Acer all in one you have, some come without and some come with. Some i have seen the dvd drive in front of monitor or on sides. just drag your finger all around pressing each button if any and see if pops out and if not then you don't have a dvd player.
I would just get a external dvd with usb and just hook that up.

The dvd-rom is dying and you will have to replace it - it will cost you less than $50.

How to reset the bios on an acer aspire idea 510

Insert the original "System Restore" CD/DVD into the CD/DVD drive.
Restart the computer.
Press a key to "change boot order".
Choose to boot from the CD/DVD drive.
Does your computer start to read the disk, and start to load something?

If so, then there's _nothing_ wrong with your computer that _WOULD_ be corrected by doing a "reset" of the BIOS. Put differently, try a "reset" of the BIOS *ONLY* as the _LAST_ thing that you try.

It's more likely that your 'C:' drive has a problem that prevents Windows from loading.

Take your computer to a qualified technician, for more trouble-shooting.

How to insert dvd in acer 5538

Since there is no external drive bay button on the Acer 5538, you either insert a paperclip or similar object into the pinhole on the optical drive door until it opens or...open the 'Start' menu, click 'Computer' (1/2-way down under the user picture), highlight the 'DVD RW drive' and mouse click 'eject' under the top-screen toolbar. Reads cd but not dvd.at times when i insert then also it spins too fast & is not bale to read it.at times it shows insert disc when i insert a DVD.

I think that this is related to the type of DVD used to be read , just find another DVD and test your ACER.
