I bought a garmin gps on black friday but it is in spanish setting but i want language in english

Setting the Languages
Touch : Tools> Settings> Language
.
Voice Language-change the language for voice prompts.
Text Language-change all on-screen text to the selected language.
Changing the text language does not change the language of user-entered data or map data, such as street names.
Keyboard-select the keyboard for your language. Touch Mode on any keyboard to change the keyboard language.
restore-restore the original language settings.

You do not tell witch Garmin GPS device you own.

But in general language are changed in settings.

If you need to change the text language press TEXT LANGUAGE and select ENGLISH

If the text language is in Spanish you won't know which icon is which but press each one in turn and you can change each to English. This should solve your problem.

2. Press Settings, the symbol in the top left corner of a spanner.
3. Press Language, the symbol of lips

You'll see 3 bars one for text language, one for voice language and one for keyboard layout.
Press each one in turn and select english as the language.

Use spanish equivalent of 'Tools > Setting > Language > Text language' menu item - 'Herramientas > Configuraciones > Idioma > Texto'.

go into your settings and or advanced settings and select language ! select english

Hit Tools (wrench icon)
Hit Settings (wrench icon)
Hit Language (lips icon)
Hit Text (top bar on right) Change to English
Hit Voice (top bar on left) Change to English

use settings language and scroll left or riht until ENGLISH appears in the box

acceptar is the one to accept

That's funny. Guess you need to brush up on your Spanish!
Here's how to fix assuming you have a 260 or 260w:

If a device does power on with a foreign language that you can not understand it can be corrected by going through the settings to change the text language.
To change the text language:

1. Touch Wrench icon on the screen with the Magnifying Glass and Map icon
2. Touch the Gears icon
3. Touch the down arrow
4. Touch the second option from the top1
5. Touch the middle blue box on right
6. Touch the up arrow until American English appears2
7. Touch American English
8. Touch OK
9. Touch Back

The device should be in selected text language.
Note 1 - In some cases, if there are Custom POIs loaded to the device then it may be the first option at the top.
Note 2 - If American English is not the language needed, please selected the desired language
