DCR TRV22 does not showup initial screen

DCR TRV22 Plug in power cable and turn ON to camera or record mode the start-up screen keeps flashing now and then repeatedly. what could be the issue can anyone please help

A blue screen appears with "Info Lithium SONY battery" text on the LCD and goes off.

This kind of behavior is seen repeatedly without me disturbing any other keys in the camera.

Are you using same Sony battery or some thing else? Tyr to power up camera with ac charger.

DCR-TRV22 Sony handycam shows black screen when recording.

This is usually caused by a defective CCD image sensor and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Difficulty to record with a sony handycam dcr-trv22

is it able to record audio? are you able to see the indicators on the lcd screen? are you able to playback previous tapes with recording...if you say yes to all of the questions, there is no doubt that you dont have an issue with the lcd screen. the issue that your having is with the ccd imaging sensor. sony has a recall program for this specific model yrs back, unfortunately its already been discontinued and if you send it to them,it will be treated as an out-of-warranty repair.

Windows XP & Vista should automatically recognize the camera (hardware) when you plug in the USB cable. You don't need the Sony software.

Won't record/No picture thru the LCD screen or viewfinder in Record or Standby Mode

it is a common problem with them. sony has a recall on ccd imager for this model. call sony and they will fix it for free

Sony TRV22 as webcam?

It?s supposed to be very easy. You should connect you camera through the USB port, turn it on, and then you have a new webcam. Maybe the cable or the connection is busted. Daniel

Just FYI, www.silentwitness.com has Sony modify the camcorders for use in mobile applications so they don't shutdown. I have no cure for this, but I do know the stock models are programmed to do this to prevent overheating. It has to do a lot with the warranty. i.e. you have a one year warranty. The unit can't (without modifications) run 24x7. Said modification almost triples the price of the camera.
