How do i change the headlights on a 2000 lumina?

Removal
  • Open the hood and find the burned-out bulb and its wiring on the backside of the headlight assembly. Twist the bulb a quarter-turn counterclockwise to unlock it, then pull the bulb from the headlight assembly. Pry the locking tab on the headlight bulb wiring harness upward with a flat-head screwdriver to unlock it, then separate the bulb from the wiring harness.
Installation
  • Hold the new bulb by its plastic base -- handling the bulb by its glass may cause it to burn out quickly -- and plug the wiring harness into the new bulb. Align the tabs on the bulb with the notches in the headlights assembly, then insert the bulb and turn it clockwise to lock it in place.

My car 2003 altima I need change light bulb. need know how to remove head light to change the bulb.

You don't have to remove the headlight to change the bulb. The bulb can be removed from the back of the headlight, usually by turning the bezel ring that holds the bulb onto the headlight housing. Just make sure you do not touch the glass part of the bulb while replacing it or it will burn out again fast.

Replaced headlight twice and it keeps blowing out

Check to make sure cable (to light) isn't chaffe and shorting out, look for small cuts and places where wires may be rubbing against metal.. Also when changing halogen lights DO NOT touch glass on bulb with hands. As stupid as it sounds, the oil from your skin forms hot spots on bulb glass and makes premature burn out

Wondering, why the low beam bulb is burning out on drivers side only. Replaced it Jan. 2008 and need to replace it again. It is a 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5.

when changing the bulbs make sure you DO NOT touch the glass with you're fingers or an oily or greasy rag. just the oil on clean hands will cause the bulbs to fail. if you must touch the glass for installation purposes make sure you use a clean dry cloth.

I'm pretty sure the light is part of the glass. The mirror glass is available seperately. Check Ebay or tascafordparts.com for a discounted part. Or, car-part.com for used one. Page with * is lowest price.

here is 2003 Nav. I don't have 2004. May be similar. please give good rating if this help. Good luck

Bulbs keep burning out

When you replace headlights in today's cars, DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS OF THE BULB!. Handle the bulb only with the packing material the bulb ships in, or with a clean dry cloth. The oils in your skin will cause premature failure of the bulb.

Also, check the sockets (car side) carefully to make sure they are not burned.

2002 Hyundai Elantra GLS, headlights burn out constantly

Folks, I had this problem for years...it turned out that the voltage control module on the alterntor wasn't working correctly. It eventually led to a major problem with consistant operation of the vehicle. the dealer couldn't figure it out...it took a seasnoned mechanic to solve the problem. I haven't had a problem since I got the alternator replaced. Wear your gloves when you change them, yes, but don't discount your alternator.

The interior oven light in most ovens is a standard 40 watt appliance bulb. Often, to change the bulb, you first need to remove a shield or glass dome. If the bulb isn't burned out, the problem may be with the switch on the oven door frame. If the switch works poorly, intermittently, or not at all, you need to replace it.
