I just found the troubleshooting guide for my washer. My washer would start, begin to wash ok then after spin cycle I received error message Lr
Locked Rotor. If I hit start it would start up again then set Lr code.
The washer just began to leak water from underneath also after about 10 Minutes of use, slight puddle.
It says to check the MOTOR DRIVE SYSTEM. It could be either the motor or the motor control board. I did not preform the entire test yet.
I`am thinking it may be the motor control board, Can anyone possibly help me out?
I have the same problem, but what do you do? We live in the middle of no where, so to get a repair man out here is near impossible. Can't seem to find our owners manual either. PLEASE help!!!!
You may have an outer tub seal leak and the bearing may be trying to seize up, hence the lr code. Removing the back panel will divulge a brown colored "spray" mark around the cabinet perimeter. This is not a DIY job and is usually around $650.00.

I would check you warr in you user man, sometimes they warr the motor on that unit for 10 yrs(certain models) and if its that old a neptune repair kit is in order which includes both motor controller and motor assy

Lr means locked rotor,
this issue occurs due to locked rotors, you'll need to check the rotor wiring
and motor windings. If the wiring is good and windings are not burnt then
you'll need to replace your motor and motor control board. These are sold as one
unit, it is a 3 phase motor and one of the phases is bad as a little power
surge can damage the boards.Hope
this helps...please post back for further assistance.
LR is the error code for Locked Rotor. This could be an issue with the Motor Controller or Control Board. I have not seen Drive Motor cause this issue to date. If you want to investigate further I would suggest getting the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual.
Google this ""Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW""
This is a sticky for the FAV6800A/FAV9800A washer DIY support.Go to the 5th post down in the Sticky and you will find a link for the Service Manual.
If you want to go further in troubleshooting and possibly a DIY fix just open a new thread in that DIY forum with Model number and Serial number. That info is found tag behind the console right back side as you face the machine console.
Tom, The LR error code can be a tough one to troubleshoot but I'll see what if any help I can be.
The LR code stands for Locked Rotor.
If you Power Cycle the 120VAC to the machine will the error code clear?
What cycle was the machine in when you took the error code wash, spin?
If you remove the front panel and with the 120VAC power cord removed from the service outlet can you rotate the Clutch Pulley CCW (Spin direction) or CW (wash/agitate) direction.
Sounds like you have the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual.
Let’s see if the drive system is free and not locked up…………Rich
The “Lr” = Locked Rotor: The machine has repeatedly tried to turn the motor. I have seen this issue caused by a failed motor.I have seen a bad Control Board cause this issue and a bad Motor Controller cause this issue. If the Lr error code happened in the Spin Cycle of the wash cycle it could be caused by seized Outer Tub bearings. Without a known good Control Board and Motor Control board this could be difficult to troubleshoot. Here is a link for the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual
lr is a code for a locked rotor assy, on the motor itself, depending on age of machine you might have warr on the motor(part anyway) check your user guide and warr info. probably gonna need to install a "neptune repair kit" which includes new motor and new motor controller
I too had the Lr problem on my Maytag MAH5500B. We had it fixed once when it was still under warranty but when it appeared again this summer, I was told that it would cost at least $500 to repair -- in other words, get a new one.
With nothing to lose, I simply unplugged the unit, opened the front and reset (as in pull out and re-insert) the jumpers to the control unit on the bottom right. It's been working fine since and I run it at least twice a week. I noticed that the Lr error would appear when I interrupt the wash cycle once it begins. When the error message appears, I simply unplug it, wait a few minutes and start it up again.
It is after all, a computer...and all computer could use a reset once in a while.
i am a appliance repair man and this is a normal problem and you need to replace your motor and motor control board sold as one unit these are 3 phases motors and one of the phases is bad. dont forget to put a surge protector on these machines because a little power surge can damage the boards maytag just figured this out because they are sending one with the new machines
