A hard reset means that you press the reset button that is next to the power button on the computer case, as opposed to a software reboot, start > restart.

When i power on emachine t6410... pc attempts to power up but stops after a 1/2 second and only the power button blinks continuosly... what gives?

It sounds like it could be a hardware failure. Most emachines that I have dealt with have a motherboard failure within the first few years. They tend to put cheap hardware in their computers that works well for a little while but ultimately fails.

T6410 desktop PC, CRX55 100 19186, version 908+XP-C what is size/ processor? has shut down with picture storage and iTunes loaded on it. What size do we need to support these items plus basic microsoft...

Your processor should be large enough to run anything you want on this particular computer. Take the computer a repair shop and see if they can recover your data from the hard drive. and then have windows reinstalled and replace the data back onto your hard drive. Good day.
