The only way to unlock it is to buy an unlock code. I always get mine and my family phones unlocked at Cellfservices . Or you can try a local shop, but a lot of those other online unlocking places are scams. I've been scammed by 2 of them. I guess 3rd is always a charm?

hmmm...if it's been that long, you may have a device that's been inactivated, or is considered lost or stolen. You may need to connect with them, to find out if your service or device are still valid.
This is an easy fix. First go to the menu then settings, Initial Setup, Master Reset. It will then ask for a security code. The code is 000000 (six zeros). It will ask if you want to reset your phone. Hit yes.
