Panasonic th-50pz85u problem

Hi, my 1 month old 50 in. recently just turned itself off. After a few times trying to turn back on , I unplugged from the wall and tried again. The tv is connected to high speed cable. when it all came back on again, a black vertical bar in the exact center of the screen, going from top to bottom, came on. I have tried unplugging again etc. but nothing is removing the black bar. It shows when I do the retention scroll too. Everything else works fine, and the picture is excellent except where the vertical bar is. Can this problem be corrected , or is the tv defective?

My TH-50PZ85U has the same problem but the black bar is a bit left of cernter....like 3 inches and about 4 inchs wide. TV is only 60 days old.

Mine is about 10 inches from the right. Happened exactly 30 days of purchase. Still able to watch it. Requested a replacement from Best Buy, but have to wait 3 weeks because they are out of stock.
Anyways, the guy that sold me the TV said they have 20 RMAs with the same problem on the 50 inch plasmas. Then I asked him why did he sell me one, he basically said beside that problem, the 50PZ85Us are one of the best out there for the price.

My problem turned out to be silly but simple. I recently took my TV off the wall and mounted it on a stand alone platform. I snaked the power plug through the back tube and left too much tension at the entry point for power. If you leave the slightest tension the female connector will jiggle and it will shut off. It normally takes 3 minutes before you can retry and then the problem persists. Try allowing more slack and/or buying a new power connector to make sure the plug connects correctly. Good Luck!

My panasonic tv won't turn on and the red light just flashes. Any way to fix it?

Tries unplug, replug tv back like about an hour later.By letting the tv resetting itself back to the factory setting. The tv should work again now.But if still have the same problems, the tv power supply board is the problems and the causes. The the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replaement.

Panasonic plasma tv doesn't turn on, red light flickers twice

hi look for any swollen capacitors, also plasma's do suffer from poor solder joints on the power board, so check for any rings around the solder pads, test the voltages on the white connectors with a meter the voltages will be written along the connector, thanks

Panasonic TH-42PX75U won't turn on

Your powerboard is damaged, and need to be replaced.

Sometimes it appear the TV is working again with no problem but it is only a matter of time for the board to get completely damaged.

TH-42PX80U JUST TURNED ITSELF OFF

The 7 blinks indicates that a failure has happened within the Y main and the upper and lower y drive panels. I recommend you taking it in to a Service center for and evaluation.

TV turns off by itself & won't turn back on til unplugged, then plugged back in

Well, first your model number is the 42 inch, but I digress...

I had a similar problem with a Viewsonic 27 inch, with the blinking power light on a failed power-up. It turned out that replacing the power transformer was the ticket. However, as I have the 50 inch Panasonic plasma, I know that the transformer is built into the set itself. I'd still suggest that this is what needs replacing though, as this is different from a set being on but having no picture.
