You may have a manufacturer recovery partion that windows installer see but it's uwriteable as it's protected. The usual partion is C:
Try again with C: as the partion, if it's not C: then look for the biggest partion, usually in Mb's.

No partion / no recovery disks how to get windos back on

Check WWW.HP.COM Support Drivers and Downloads. A lot of help there. Also, check around the college IT department, most of the students are going to have MS TechNet subscriptions and access to a lot of tools that will help.

Sat pro c650 model psc09a-005019 Need copy of recovery disc for vista please can i download..

you should have a recovery partition on the drive itself when you turn on the computer immediatly hit f10 or f11 i cant remember if that doesnt boot into recovery. then you must shut down. hold the 0 (NUMBER) key then turn it on. keep holding it until it boots into the recovery partition. let me know if that helped. this model DOES have a recovery partion

I reformated hard drive now it cant find hard drive

when you reformat did you also redo your partion?
if not this would be the main cause of your system not seeing your hard drive.
try loading your os and when your format this time make a partion on it. there is also company that has software i think its called Partion Magic
try it or elese try reloading your os.

No internal hard disk found

Hi there.
Use the Vista CD to create the new partition, but first you have to delete the old partition first, (the 220GB partition not the 10GB one because that will be the recovery partition).
Get a calculator and work out your new partition, for example 50GB is 50x1024MB so that will be 51200MB.
When you have deleted the 220GB partition select NEW and input your newly worked out partition and carry on from there, to activate the other partition just format it.

Please post back with the results and for anymore help if needed.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

One touch button is not working if i press i could enter but it shows shows me your partion is different with company

Most laptops these days come with a recovery drive. the contents contain alll the information that was in your machine the day you brought it. you somehow managed to corrupt the partition or delete its files. i'd suggest that you restore its contents from a backup if you made one or you could take it to the store you got it from and have them do it for you. also usually laptops come with recovery disks so you must check if u have those you might not need to use the one button recovery
