Try this it worked for me! Unplug usb ,phone cord then power cord for a few seconds. While holding down the (OK) and (ON) buttons plug power cord back in. It should get you out of the error code screen. Then you should be able to do the number (6) and (#) button reset as found on HP site! I hope this works for you as well.

Solution two: Service the product

I had the exact same issue with one of these printers. 83C00020 on the display with a blue background. printer will not power off.
Try this - Press and hold the OK button then press the power button to reset the printer .
I did this and it powerd on ok and is now working fine.

Try unplugging the printer from power for about 10 minutes and then reconnect it and see if that will reset it. You mentioned the error code 83c00020 is that on the printer screen or somewhere else?
I wasn't able to find that exact error is that the way the error actually displayed?
