80G Ipod Classic skips songs

I-pod classic plays some songs but not all of them. It will sip through songs and play the ones that it can play. I reseted it but nothing happened.

I bought Skin and Bones from iTunes and the songs play fine in iTunes on my macbook, but when I drop them on my 30GB video iPod it always skips about half of the songs. After song 2 it skips to song 7, then skips 8, plays 9, jumps to 13 and finishes ok after that.

I tried deleting the songs from my ipod and then re-syncing them. The same songs get skipped.

Then I reset my iPod... same result.

Then I restored my iPod and resynced just the Foo Fighters and it still skips the same songs. I've reported the problem with Apple.

I have purchased songs from the Itunes music store which play just fine on my computer, but stop playing partially through the song (usually around 27 seconds) on my Ipod and then goes to the next song.
