My phone is locked on the Treo Screen when I first turn the phone on. I have tried removing the battery and also hitting the reset. I never backed up my phone book and have a ton of numbers that I really need on there. Is there anything that can be done????

the only way to unlock it is to do a hard reset, but this will delete all the info out of the device, but if you have synced the phone you can sync it back after the reset
to do a MAster/hard reset you hold down the END/RED key and/while pushing the reset button with your stylus on the back of the phone, the reset button is under the battery cover, right next to the battery
Send the device to the people over at www.fhonwizards.com for them to troubleshoot and most likely replace the screen. Although, it may only need to be reconnected inside.
I have a Treo 700wx with very similar problem that I solved by starting a hard reset by holding down red button while inserting the battery... keep button down until the message comes asking if you are sure you want to do a hard reset.... I hit the space bar to abort it and IT STARTED UP normally ... worth a try... good luck.
One way to speed up the the processing speed is by checking the memory usage. From the main screen select the start button and then settings. At the settings page select the system tab towards the bottom and on that tab select memory. Choose the running programs tab at the bottom. It will give you a list of programs that are running in the background, even though you may have exited out of them there still are parts of them that are still pulling on your phone. Select which program(s) you want to stop and then hit the stop button. Some programs wont let you close out such as OfficeSync but others like internet explorer or solitaire will close easily and allow you phone more space to operate.
To put it simply doing this is like turning a 2 lane road in to a California freeway it gives the phone more space to send and recive data instead of trying to squeeze it.
I have the same problem on my 700p. I've tried hard reset, soft reset, take the battery out, still frozen on the alltel screen - this sucks.
