Sorry, i probably wrote my question incorrectly. I was trying to clear my firelite 60gb. I have already dragged all the items into the trash and it still says only 7gb available.
yes, i am also trying to fully clear my 120 G firelite, and dragged all to the trash. it still shows that the drive is full, although nothing shows stored as files. how to you effectively clear/delete ???

I have a firelite USBFLB60 60gb. My cord broke, so I just ordered "Cable Wholesale USB Type A Male / Mini-B Male Cable, 5 Pin, Black, 1 ft" from Amazon for very cheap. I think that is the correct adapter, and I imagine it would be the same for yours.
We are sorry but you are contacting totally the wrong people; this is the FixYa washing machine forum made up of ordinary guys and gals, probably at home and from all over the world, with experience of addressing problems and giving guidance for free on the web ;-0)
You need to contact the vendor/supplier from whom you are trying to purchase whatever the item is.
Sorry we cannot help further.
Good luck,
Empty the Recycle Bin -- the files that you "erased" were _only_ moved from their location into the Recycle Bin -- they still occupy just as much disk-space.
The only think that can be replaced is the whole had drive unit inside the plastic enclosure.
If you disassemble an hard drive unit on normal environment you have over 90% of chances to damage the disks, as hard drives are normally built in a special e pressurized environment (clean room).
Therefore , even if it is possible (providing that also control board is replaced) the 60Gb 'internal disks' with 120MB, it is not worth attempting the operation, as chance this is unsuccessful are too big, and such rebuilt hard drive won't be a reliable data support.
If instead you want just to replace the external USB enclosure, in that case the operation can be done with no problem, just find a 120 GB disk and replace the old 60GB.
to clear all the unused data from your computer you need to do to things Disk defrag and Disk cleanup located Programs> Accessories> System Tools if this is a externul drive with no Os on it Rigth click on the device icon select Format this will to erase Data bypassing your desk top bin
