You have to subscribe to update it via online, but most don't need a new map, maps don't change all that often. Newer models you can get an update but like I said, maps just don't change that much.
The basic 1350 model doesn't have free map updates but the 1350LMT model does. LMT stands for lifetime map and traffic updates but of course you're pay extra for the LMT models. Note lifetime means the lifetime of the satnav not your life. It comes with maps of Australia and NZ when bought in one of these countries. If you want more than these maps you'll need to store them on a memory card. You'll have to download them to your computer and then install them to a memory card. You'll find details of how to do this at http://www.fixya.com/support/r5628920-update_garmin_satnav_maps which tells you how to update your maps including how to set up a map on a memory card. I hope this answers your question.
There is no update needed for this model yet. Here the support page, any software update will appear in the download section:Clarion U.S.A. | EZD580.
Clarion said that a new map update was going to be released, but then they never published any update. Try calling them ringing the free number 800-GO-CLARION (462-5274) and ask when an update will be make available.
I would suggest you to look into Underground GPS forum. It has some good info. TomTom official site is not the only way to get and update maps on AVN2210P. Currently I am using version 840 latest USA and Canada map with Navcore 7.833 with no issue. Good luck.
Hello woodman65, I would suggest giving Clarion a call at 1-800-GO-CLARION (462-5274) to get more information about map updates.Their website states that they do not own the maps included on the GPS, they only license them for use on the product. They should be able to refer you to the company which supplied the maps so that you can purchase a map update. Hope that helps. Ken "Go Ahead. Use Us."
