Hi I have the Ambassador 337 model. I had to rewire the on off wiring due to the "N" wire rubbing through & breaking. I have it all together again although a piece of wire in the shape of a "V", with a bend each side of it has dropped out & I don't know where it came from!!!! Please send me diagram of this model so that I know where it goes. Cheers Ian.

Electrolux diagrams are proprietary information and not available to the general public. I believe the wire goes in the power nozzle on the bottom piece near the brush.

It's from the power nozzle..no need for it. You'll be fine.

The easiest solution would be to call your local Aerus/ Electrolux representative, because the corporation doesnt publish diagrams.

The brush roll motor is most likely what caused the problem to the circuit board. You would look at about $100 or so for the 2 parts.

SOURCE: belt on side keeps coming off

I've had Dyson Vacuums for years without any problem. Since they come with a 5 year Warranty, I would take it back to the store where you bought it from and demand an exchange for a new or (Manufacturer) refurbished unit.

Make sure that you tell them that you have had it repaired and that it did not solve the problem. If they do not exchange the Vacuum for you, tell them that you will report them to the 'Better Business Bureau" as them exchanging the Vacuum does not cost them anything. If they still refuse to help you, report them to the BBB making sure to include the steps that you have done to resolve the problem, and mention that the Vacuum is still under Warranty.

Good Luck.

My electrolux ambassador stopped working suddenly

This may be a bit late, but if you're using an afterfilter on your vacuum, check it. These should be changed every sixth bag or so. If not, it will get extremely dirty and block the airflow, causing the motor to overheat and shut off.
There could be other problems, but this is the easiest thing to check, and the quickest fix. You don't really need the afterfilter to continue using the vacuum. It's there to prevent fine dust particles that have gotten through the bag from returning to the home. With the new bags out now, it's kind of obsolete, but HEPA afterfilters are made for newer Aerus Electrolux vacuums for folks concerned with fine pollens and dust, and those with allergies.
If you've ever had a bag break, then dirt has also gotten into the motor. This will cause problems, and the motor should be cleaned as soon as possible. The wiring can be checked while this is done, as a loose wire can also cause this problem.

How do i open the housing of an electrolux ambassador model #c101j to fix cord recoil

This can be a complex undertaking, so I highly recommend taking it to the nearest Aerus Electrolux store for repair. I've seen many disassembled machines come in to the shop because the owner couldn't figure out how to put it back together. Any misplaced wires during reassembly can result in nonworking vacuum, shock and even fire hazard.
Taking it to the shop may cost more, but I believe is less expensive in the long run. They'll do it right.

Following old directions found online I opened an Electrolux Ambassador III to fix the cord winder. When reassembling, I found a loose white wire. Where should it be reconnected?

A white wire is part of the power wiring (neutral), but if the machine runs ok, it may be a left-over from previous work or original manufacturing. If the machine does not run now, then look obvious bare connectors to reinstall it. Hope this helps!

I have an antique 8 arm chandlier and want to put it up in my bedroom but the wire hasnt any differance in color, how do i wire it to the exsisting wire from the celing , what wire goes to what wire ? I...

If an electrician is installing the lamp, he/she will determine which wire goes where. More important though is the condition of the insulation of the original wiring--insulation of wires was commonly natural rubber which decays over time. If you can bend a wire that has insulation and the insulation cracks/breaks off of the wire, then strongly suggest that the entire unit be rewired with modern fixture-insulated wire. You don't want a fire hazard in your bedroom. The rewiring job should include a ground wire to prevent possible shock. Hope this helps!

Electrolux Ambassador stainless lower wand

I am trying to locate a stainless lower wand for an Electrolux Ambassador model 1623. The search has proven fruitless so far. Any suggestions?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. A couple of thought came to mind that you can try. Look in the yellow pages for your local vacuum dealer to see if they carry it to contact your Electrolux factory @ the phone # listed below. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
