Can't connect to internet

I can't connect to the internet even though the card and router appear to be talking to each other. When you view the properties via the network connections tab it says "aquiring network address". I then put the ip addresses in manually and it shows as connected but when I launch explorer it says there is no connection. The connection is fine with the same explorer settings via the ethernet card/cable.?? intermittant connection to the internet...continually "aquiring network address"

It sounds like the driver for the USB network device is not loaded correctly. So, you'll need to reinstall it from scratch. Unplug everything, install the software, then reattach the usb cable to the PC.

The other thing is, did you DISABLE the network adapter that was already in your PC when you added the USB network adapter? If not, you need to do that. If they are both active but only one is connected, the system could still be trying to use the other network adapter and tying up the resources in the process.

We are getting a wifi is not connected message from our unblock tv box even though the ethernet cable is connected and functioning properly.

If wifi is enabled and your TV shows it is connected, the problem lies upstream from your TV. The problem will likely be at your router where the internet first enters your home.
You could try to restart your router. Otherwise you internet service provider may be having a problem and you need to talk with them.

I have a PC running windows 7 connected to the internet via Verizon dhl but whenever I try to connect a wrt54g router I lose the internet connection even though the modem appears to be working with all...

I had the same Linksys router, and the same issue as well. I continually reset it. Resetting the router would provide better connectivity to my laptop, but it would fail all to soon. I wound up switching routers, and the issue was resolved. I would recommend that you rest the router and see if that helps. If not, then I would recommend a new router.

Router not seeing internet connection

If you are on cable internet, you need to perform MAC Address Cloning. Access the router's setup page using your main PC, under SETUP tab, there's a sub-tab called MAC Address Clone. Enable that and click on "Clone My PC's MAC" then click on Save Settings. Power cycle the router and the modem. You should be online after that.

    Internet problem

If you are talking about a wireless router, try changing the channel that the wireless router is using. Many times there is interference from yours or a neighbors portable phone.

    Hooking linksys to gigafast

There are some question's that should probably be asked before we begin. Generally a wireless adapter or network card is present in a computer to allow it to access a wireless router which is connected to an internet service provider (generally a dsl connection through a phone line or a cable modem from your cable provider. Your request seems to be to get a computer to talk to a wireless router to talk to a wireless router to talk to your internet service provider (dsl or cable). I will assume after reading this that you probably have or will get a wireless adapter for the computer to talk to one or both of the wireless routers you appear to have. Wiring two wireless routers in the same house may be useful if the home is large or the wireless routers operate on different bands (a, b, g or frequencies) and you have different computers that require the different bands. however both wireless routers are in my experience connected to each other using a wire. Once we clarify the above we can probably address the connectivity issues for the devices you require.

    Can't connect to internet

The issue could be with the wifi connection that your wifi adapter is connected to. If your running a windows based system, go to the system tray and right click on your wifi connection symbol (SSID) and see which network your connected to. Every LAN has its own unique name of their Local area network (LAN), if its not displaying your LAN SSID name but a different SSID name then thats the problem. If thats the case, then once again right click on the wifi connection symbol in the system tray and change the wifi connection to your SSID for "view available connection". Your wifi adapter could be picking up a wifi connection in your area and you do not have access to their LAN.
