The scanner has a separate driver as does the printer portion. They are installed separately. Download the scanner driver or re-install the disc that came with your printer.

Hp scanjet 200 is not working

If your HP Scanjet 200 is not working, here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:
  1. Check the power supply: Make sure the scanner is properly connected to the power source and that the power cord is securely plugged in. If it's connected to a power strip or surge protector, try plugging it directly into a wall outlet.
  2. Check the USB connection: Make sure the USB cable is properly connected between the scanner and your computer. Try using a different USB cable or a different USB port on your computer.
  3. Check the scanner driver: Make sure the scanner driver is properly installed on your computer. You can download the latest driver from the HP website and reinstall it.
  4. Restart the scanner and computer: Turn off the scanner and your computer, then turn them back on and try scanning again.
  5. Clean the scanner glass: If the scanner glass is dirty, it can affect the quality of the scanned images. Clean the scanner glass with a soft, lint-free cloth and a non-abrasive glass cleaner.
  6. Check for error messages: If there are any error messages displayed on the scanner or on your computer, check the HP support website for more information on how to resolve them.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact HP support or a professional technician for further assistance. They can help diagnose and fix the problem safely and effectively.

Scansnap Scanner stops suddenly when scanning multiple pages and "hangs" for a little while, stating that it's scanning the same page, before giving an error message saying that it is offline. ...

I had this problem happen also and found that it was related to Acronis True Image Home 2011. When this program was uninstalled, the problem went away. I had even rebuilt the Windows 7-64 bit OS and the problem existed until Acronis was again removed.

Hp Laserjet 2840 was scanning, suddenly it stopped and gave the message "An error occurred communicating with the scanning device. Please ensure that the scanning device is connected properly and try...

I pulled this from the HP boards from Charlie Bravo

I tried it and it worked for me. (this is a network setup.)
MY FIX (Windows XP):
After trying numerous things, here is what I resolved:

1) Problem: when trying to scan using my 2820 Color Laserjet using "Solution Center", I got the dreaded, yet common error: "An error communicating with the scanning device. Please ensure that the scanning device is connected properly and try again"
My device: HP LJ2820 Color Laserjet

2) The printer worked fine when printing to it and also, scanned fine when using the Windows Wizard (Start/All Programs/Accessories/Scanner and Camera Wizard

3) Hewlett-Packard Support was less than worthless since they used my time and provided no useful information. Their ineptitude is legendary as we all know... To add insult to the injury, the rep wanted to charge me $25 for the "incident" which happens to be to not only identify teir bugs but also to report and fix them as an unwitting test site. Arrogant of them to say the least !

4) SOLUTION: Added an entry in the HOSTS and lmhosts file (this file is located in WINNT/SYSTEM2/DRIVERS/ETC ):
192.168.1.1 HP Color Laserjet
The 192... etc is the default gateway for my printer (look in toolbox and get the network report for yours, my printer is connected using the network, wired to a Linksys router)

Dont's bother with "reinstalling", "de-installing", etc. the problem is related to addressing and not corrupted drivers. It's simply a HP bug, nothing else.

5) Ran the "patch" col10862.exe from the hp site, listed under an unrelated problem to an unrelated printer. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&softwareitem=sj-32245-2&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

6) Now I can can use the the scanner I paid for...

7) Time to resolve the issue: 2 minutes. time to find the resolution to the issue: 4 hours.

Won't scan nor fax

HP multi units are notorious for scanner failures. It is just a weak component in their machines. I have seen this time and time again. The only solution is to change the scanner out or purchase a different machine. Just keep in mind the notoriety HP has which failed scanners. If you want to venture into the replacement of the scanner the following website might have the product you are looking for. Otherwise, search around the net for a scanner assembly unit for the OJ7310. But, be prepared scanner units are not cheap.

Hppsapp.exe has encountered a problem and need to close.

First make sure you have downloaded the current version of the software for yourOS.

Next, uninstall the software that you have already and reboot the system. Now reinstall the software, plug in the scanner only when instructed to do so in the software. Try that and post back with results.

You will first have to preview the document and then save it..
