Packard Bell (160248-01) Computer Speakers with a 12 volt power source worked OK,

Tried a 9 volt and it also worked.

This pair of speakers is grey with a barrel design. The mounting surface placed flat is approximately 10.25 inches by 3.75 inches. Each end has a rainbow design with a depth of 2.75 inches. By placing with the mounting surface flat on your desk gives you an out of the floor design. The front edge from the desk to the bottom edge is 1.5 from the surface to the top edge with a 3.75 inch. Suggesting you may mount them under your desk, on the side by your legs or stand them on each side of your screen.

I am told they come in white and black also I found them rather large for what I need but your decision is you should be happy before buying a pair.

This cable is likely to be the 12v power input. Packard Bell used to supply side speakers with 3 cables, two for audio signals and the 3rd on (light grey in colour) pluged into a 12v jack on the back of the rather unusal ATX powers supply.

I want to reformat PB MS2303

Packard Bell is a computer manufacturer, now owned by Acer. Restoring your computer will erase the hard drive and install a fresh copy of Microsoft Windows. This is beneficial if the Packard Bell is showing its age and running extremely slow or has been hit with an incurable virus infection. Before attempting to restore the system, be sure to back up any data you wish to save.

1.Insert the Windows Setup CD/DVD into the computer's optical drive. The disc will have been included with the Packard Bell computer.

2.Restart the computer with the disc inserted. A black screen will appear when the disc is detected, displaying "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..." Press any key on the keyboard to launch the Windows installer. The "Install Windows" screen will appear.

3.Click "Next."

4.Select "I accept the license terms" and click "Next."

5.Click "Custom" when asked what type of installation you'd like. The other option is "Upgrade," but in order to restore your Packard Bell system to its factory settings, you must reformat the hard drive.

6.Click "Drive Options" when asked where to install Windows. Select the C: drive and click "Erase." Select the unallocated space after it has been erased, and click "Format." Format the space using the "NTFS" file system.

7.Click "Next" and Windows will begin reinstalling on the Packard Bell's hard drive. The system will reboot when finished and launch into your newly restored Packard Bell.

I have a Packard Bell Imedia desktop not sure of the model. It was working fine until recently, I switched on my pc and after the boot screen "NTLDR is missing Alt Ctrl Del" message appeared....

Remove the hard disk and attach it to an USB hard drive adapter and then connect it into the USB port of a working computer. This computer will detect the hard drive as an external storage device, then you can open the various folders and files to copy your files to this computer or burn your data to a CD/DVD disc or USB flash drive.
Return you hard disk back to your Packard Bell so you can reinstall Windows.

When I turn on my packard bell ixtreme 6052 nothing appears yet it does see computer but does not even go to bios and harddrive read light remains on and harddrive is constantly ticking like it's...

This could be lots of things (bad HD, bad Mother board, bad RAM,etc...) first you need to narrow down the possible cause, open the computer, take out every thing that can be unplugged (I MEAN EVERYTHING) RAM, PCI cards, VIDEO cards, all storages HD, CD ROM, etc... just leave the CPU and power supply plugged in, than power up the computer and listen for BEEP's if you hear a series of BEEP's this means the CPU, power supply and mother board are GOOD, than (with power OFF each time) re-install the components you taken out (ONE at a time) to see which device causes the system crash... I've seen a modem card causing a system mall function once rediculous but true...

Good luck!

How do I connect the speakers to a packard bell computer

You need a Packard Bell motherboard for this. look on the side of the monitor in the slot, and you should see 2 dark patches (holes). poke the hooks of the speakers inside these holes then pull down. if they are correctly placed, they will not come out if you pull the speakers away from the monitor. Hope this helps! Max

Speakers not working - PS2 plug has come out

Honestly, if they are packard bell speakers they are 1. old, 2. may have a propritery connection that is no longer found. A new set of speakers will only cost $20 at walmart, might be easier to just invest in a new set!

FITTING MOTHERBOARD

If you have not removed the old motherboard from the case, then you can identify the various front panel connectors as you disconnect them and label them. Some front panel connectors have labels printed on the connectors which makes it easy for you to identify its purpose. If you have already removed the old motherboard then you will need to trace each of the leads to the front panel to see what they are connected to (eg. the LEDs and switches etc).
You will also need to identify on the new motherboard the various connectors for each function, eg power LED, hard drive LED, reset switch, power on switch, internal speaker etc. If you are lucky It may be printed on the motherboard, if not you will need to refer to the manual.
NOTE the LEDs are polarity sensitive, if the LED does not light, then swap the connector around the other way.
