Frigidaire double door with ice/water dispenser in door.
The unit has ice forming on floor of freezer compartment. There is no sign of overflow from the ice maker, there is no sign of water or ice on sides of compartment, Also there is no formation of ice on any of the shelves. The ice and water dispensers are working correctly. No water in refrigeraton compartment, and no water leaking ont floor.
In past the ice maker was installed incorrectly in such a way that the water did not fill the ice maker but ran into the freezer compartment, so I know what that problem looks like, this is not it.
Your note was exactly on the money. After figuring out how to get to the drain line by removing two back panels, we found the drain at the bottom of the freezer to be full of ice and the drain hole solidly frozen, In fact, enough water had overflowed that the lower end of the lower panel was frozen in to the pan, Blow dryer did the trick. There was no dirt of foreign material in the drain pan. Now the concern is: why did it freeze up in the first place, the first time in eight years. We will watch it. There was some ice formation on the fins just below the fan, a rather large piece.

Re:
Check to see if the defrost drain is not frozrn over or stopped up
this is the only way that water can get into the freezer
frost could and melt but dont think that i would check the drain at the bottom of the rear freezer panel if you see ice it is stopped up for sure
if all is clear there go to the ice maker, have had some that are overfilling and runnig over the ice maker into the bottom of the freezer

If you have water build-up on the floor of the food compartment, or ice buildup on the floor of the freezer compartment, you are probably suffering from either a frost problem or from a clogged defrost drain.
Remove everything from your freezer, including all food and any shelves. Do not remove the icemaker (if installed.)
Look at and feel the panel covering the bottom or back of the freezer compartment. Is it thick with frost?
On top freezer models, are the holes in the top of the food compartment that lead to the evaporator choked with ice?
Is there ice forming on, or lots of water on the ceiling of the food compartment?
If the answer is yes to any of these questions, there's probably a defrost problem.
If you suspect a defrost problem, first remove any icemaker that may be installed. You will see a removable panel covering the entire back or bottom of your freezer compartment. There may be 6 to 10 or more screws holding it on. In some units there is a light socket attached to the panel; you'll see this arrangement most often in side-by-sides.
If you start to get an unusual buildup of ice in one particular spot in your freezer, especially beneath the icemaker, check for water leaks.
Water leaking onto the kitchen floor not traceable to one of the problems in Chapters 4 or 6 may be from a leak in the icemaker or door dispenser water system. Icemakers have a water solenoid valve mounted on the back of the fridge, usually behind the back bottom panel, and a water tube that leads straight up the back of the fridge to the icemaker. Door dispensers have a similar water solenoid valve with a water tube that leads beneath the fridge and into the door through a hollow hinge. If your fridge has both features, it's usually a dual water solenoid valve. It can be simple or not-so-simple to fix, but basically it's just a plumbing job.
This is solution to frozen water 'plug' preventing water dispense but ice maker still making ice. I first tried a suggested fix from this site to just leave dispenser light on overnight. I added some aluminum foil sealed over the module with a little tape to hold in heat. By morning still no water dispensed BUT I escalated the suggested fix by 1.) placing a large mug of boiling water in the compartment behind the aluminum foil 'cover' heat seal and 2.) added a small bean bag heating/cooling pad [heated in microwave] to the ice chute in the door from the freezer side. After one change out of the two 'heat sources' (about 30 min)...viola! Water dispensing again; proving it was an ice plug in the water dispenser. NOTE: When first adding the heating bag to the ice chute in the door, I found that a good bit of frost had formed at the top of the ice chute, so it appears this problem arose when someone (maybe even me) didn't close the freezer door completely due to overcrowding in that section of the freezer pushing against the freezer section door.
That is most likely a dual water control valve stuck open on back of refrigerator near floor. One side feeds ice maker and other side feeds the water dispenser. If the ice maker side began to leak slowly it would create quite a mess of ice flowing over ice maker and freeze every place it could inside the freezer. Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section underneath the evaporator coil. Make sure water drains when you
pour it in. Good luck! :)
Computer board?...doubt it. This sounds like two solenoids (an electro-magnet that when energized sucks into it a mechanism, water valve etc)...the 2 solenoids might be sharing the same connection.
The two solenoids are "separate devices" and usually behind the fridge at the bottom. One is for water on the door and the other the ice maker triggers...although they might look like one whole solenoid as sometimes the water feed runs through it to feed the other. They are still "electrically separate."Look for something that got bumped / wire terminals touched together.
the drain in the freezer compartment is frozen up you can remove all items from lower freezer and remove access panel on back of freezer compartment pick the ice out of the drain hole with a small screwdriver DO NOT USE SCREWDRIVER AROUND THE ALUMINUM COILS! once all ice is gone that you can see use hairdryer to blow into hole on medium heat. once it looks like it is gone take a small 1/4 plastic tubing and push down the hole to try to clear obstructions then run hot water down hole. if it still doesnt drain take rear access panel off of compressor area (back of refrig) look for drain hose and remove clamp take off and clean u might try this first. but you will have to remove ice from drain.
Drain line may be plugged. Access from the rear and clean it out. Then melt ice and put some hot water through the drain to insure it is clear. The water should appear in the drain pan under the freezer.
check your freezer door see if it (ajar) what you can do if you can unplug unit clar drain with hot water then get apiece of shave wire hook on the defrost heater and put in drain line 1/8 in the drain line put back wall back together and plug unit in
