Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Yes, but probably expensive. I'd suggest getting a card reader, which is a far more versatile and easier to use option. It should only run about $30 US (maximum!). Any camera shop or electronics store should be able to advise as to which to get.

How to transfer photos taken by an Olympus Camedia C-1000 L to a computer?

To transfer photos taken by an Olympus Camedia C-1000L camera to a computer, you can use the following method:
  1. Connect the camera to the computer using a USB cable.
  2. Turn on the camera and set it to the "PC" or "Computer" mode.
  3. On your computer, a new drive or a pop-up window should appear, indicating that the camera has been recognized.
  4. Open the drive or window and navigate to the folder where your photos are stored.
  5. Select the photos you want to transfer and copy them to your computer by using drag and drop or "Copy" and "Paste" functions.
Alternatively, you can use the Olympus Camedia Master software that came with the camera to transfer photos. Once connected and the software is open, you will be able to see the camera's content, then you can select and transfer the photos to your computer.
It's important to keep in mind that the Olympus Camedia C-1000L is an older model camera, which may not be compatible with the latest version of computer operating systems, so it's recommended to check the software and the operating system compatibility before transferring the photos.

I have taken some new photos on my camera but when I have connected it up to the pc to transfer the photos it keeps saying no new picutures or video were found on this device

TRANSFERRING PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

I have taken photos on my camera and then when I go to download they are no longer there? Been using for a while so am sure am not accidently deleting them... Help!

I have had success with this... Download this camera image recovery program called asoftech photo recovery
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Asoftech-Photo-Recovery/126127714100611?sk=info

You have to use a card reader either on your computer or an external USB card reader. Put the card in the card reader, open the recovery program, then select the drive where files are deleted, then press "Start" and wait for it to do it's magic.

Today when i connected my camera to my computer i thought of copying pictures from my pc to my camera. I opened 'My Computer' and opened the folder of my camera. There I pasted one of my photos....

If all the pictures you copied were originally taken with this camera, then it is certainly because you modified this particular image - renamed it or a rotation from portrait to landscape.....

If this is not a picture taken by this camera, then this is normal, camera are usualy able to see only picture it has taken.

Hope this helps

Retrieving deleted photos without memory card

Yes, you can get them back...but ONLY if you have not taken any pictures after you formated the camera. There are programs out there that use data recovery to get your pictures back, but like I said, If you have taken pictures on your camera after you did the format...nothing will work.

If you remove memory card your camera will show the pictures held in his internal 27 megs memory, as if it was memory card. Same if you connect to computer with no memory card inside.
