I work for the former Brandt company, now called Glory.
Let me be clear on this. The Brandt/Glory company makes the best counters on the planet. That being said the model 1200 is the worst design ever. I never liked it and it's been last made 25 years ago.
Lets start simple. In the back of the machine there are 2 fuses. F1 protects the motor and is a 3 amp fuse. F2 is a 1/2 amp fuse to protect the display. Make sure they are good.
Next you'll have to take the back off to see if the belt is broke or the pulley fell off. Or, the motor plug has come loose?
Do a machine reset by unpluging the power cord. Then while pressing and holding the "C" key, plug the machine back in and wait 5 seconds. If the above does not help at all, you have more serious problems like bad motor, bad motor controller.

Let me set the record straight. Brandt invented the 8672, one of the best machines of all time. Unfortunately it was way over priced. Brandt was in business for over 110 years and then sold out to the employees of the company who then sold out to the DeLaRue company in England. DeLaRue then sold out to Talaris. And, finally, Talaris sold out to Glory two years ago. However, the 8672 stopped production before Glory became the owner. All the above took place over 15 year period. Got all that!!
Now back to your question. What kind of manual do you need? I would need to know the full model and serial number for the correct manual.
If your counter say Brandt on it, that is very old. The newest version has the name Talaris on it. Spare parts can be had, but are very rare and somewhat expensive since the machine is no longer made. Here is a picture of a 8672. Good luck.....

PSL stands for "position sensor-left". Check the left sensor for dust or some obstruction on that sensor. The operators manual will show you where that sensor is.

From what I have read, it seems that what matters the most is the speed of the counter. In this article I found, the fastest counter can count 1500 bills per minute:
