Hp dv 6000 battery shows bad when I do a diagnosis. Battery will not charge. Replaced battery and had the same probelm with a new battery. The charger adapter has a reading of 18v with the multimeter at the output jack. This reading is the same as marked on the charger adapter. Is it the charger? Or something wrong with the laptop charging system. Hp dv 6000 battery shows bad when I do a diagnosis. Battery will not charge. Replaced battery and had the same probelm with a new battery. It is not your battery that is the problem but the charger so you will need to go somewere like officemax and buy a universal charger and if you still have problems then call HP tech support there friendly people

My Ryobi 18V One+ charger blinks green while it's charging. When the battery is fully charged, the LED goes to a solid green. However, one battery recently had a faulty cell. After several hours on the charger, the green and red LEDs both were blinking. That indicated that the battery failed late in the charging sequence. It didn't fail the initial testing by the charger. The other battery I charged that day charged fine.
The extended capacity batteries can take 12 hours to charge in my experience. The regular batteries take less time. The charge time will depend on the battery chemistry(The older NiCd batteries take longer to charge then the Lithium batteries.)
I hope this helps. Assuming you aren't dealing with a cold or hot battery or charging environment, if you have any suspicion about a faulty battery, replace it.

(Note: I have a 12V drill as well. Those batteries takes longer to charge for the same relative capacity than the 18V NiCd batteries.)
get the new charger; and consider returning to store or manufacturer.
if you have the black charger, throw it out
you need the green/two-tone charger for ryobi one 18v
Try to connect the AC adaptor of your laptop and plug it to the wall outlet and let it charge for 3 hours or more. When you plug it on the wall socket, it won't show the laptop's led blinking since it was totally drained. But after 3 minutes or more, it will start to show the blinking led to indicate charging. When blinking stops led light disappears, it is fully charged and ready to use.
Remember: Do not use your laptop while it is plugged in to save your battery life. When at home, remove the battery while it is fully charged and plug the AC adaptor directly to the wall outlet. It will still work without the battery as long as it is plugged directly to the wall socket.
I didn't have the time to find out what was the problem cause i needed the camera immediately so i bought a new battery and a new charger. Thanks for the help!!
Charging LED Red LED is on = Being charged Red LED is blinking = Charging error Green LED is on = Charging is complete
● If the charge indicator blinks as red, it indicates a battery charging error. - The battery is not properly inserted - The terminals of battery are dirty or damaged If the battery is inserted properly and the charge indicator continues to blink, contact the nearest Samsung Camera Service Center.
If the charging LED doesn't turn to green could mean a signal that the battery is bad or can't charge 100% anymore = too old, needs a new battery. Hope this helps.
Hello, Here's a copy from the owners manual: ■ Charging LED Red LED is on = Being charged Red LED is blinking = Charging error Green LED is on = Carging is complete
● If the charge indicator blinks as red, it indicates a battery charging error. - The battery is not properly inserted - The terminals of battery are dirty or damaged If the battery is inserted properly and the charge indicator continues to blink, contact the nearest Samsung Camera Service Center.
Another charging error is when the batteries are so depleted, they won't charge up to 100% anymore = red light doesn't go out and remains on for too long, means get a new battery.

Or if the red LED remains on without turning green could mean a bad battery that no longer charges to 100% - get a new battery. Hope this helps
Let the battery go all the way dead. You may have to adjust the settings in your bios so that the laptop will stay on until the battery goes completely dead. Then charge the battery. Do this a few times if it does not fix the problem you do need a new battery.
From HP website- worked immediately for me. This document pertains to HP Notebook PCs with Windows Vista.
Understanding battery charging issues
If
the notebook battery is not charging or the notebook does not indicate
that the battery is charging, the most likely scenario is that the
battery itself is operating correctly, but its power management
software may have become corrupt. In order to correct the problem, you
will need to uninstall and reinstall the power management software by
using the Device Manager. This document will explain how to uninstall
and reinstall the ACPI Battery listings in Windows Vista, as well as
how to obtain and install updated BIOS files, if needed to correct
other battery issues.
Uninstalling and reinstalling power management software in Windows Vista
In order to correct problems with the battery's power management software, follow the steps below.
Click
Start
and type
device
in the search field, then select
Device Manager
.
Expand the
Batteries
category.
Under the Batteries category, right-click the
Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
listing, and select
Uninstall
.
WARNING:
Do not remove the Microsoft AC Adapter driver or any other ACPI compliant driver.
On the Device Manager taskbar, click
Scan for hardware changes
.
Alternately, select
Action > Scan for hardware changes
.
Windows
will scan your computer for hardware that doesn't have drivers
installed, and will install the drivers needed to manage your battery's
power. The notebook should now indicate that the battery is charging.
