Dryer turns off after 30 seconds and beeps six times (over and over.....)

A couple of weeks ago, I found that the dryer would stop after one load had dried (around 45 min) and wouldn't restart until it had been left alone for an hour or so (cooling down I guess). Then, this weekend, the time dropped to about 30 seconds, and the dreadful six beeps code thing happened. Even after cancelling the beep continues along with the lights flashing. I tried unplugging and trying again but had the same result. The unit is only three years old and looks like new. Is this normal? Is there anything other than a dying motor that could cause this?  Hopefully yours, Steve R.

My dryer is brand new and has been installed. It runs for about 10 seconds and then shuts down. Any suggestions?

This has happened to me twice now. I take everything apart and clean it really well, including vacuuming excess lint out of every crevice and crack I can find. It seems to do the trick, but now my dryer will not function on the 'normal' setting at all. It just reads 'damp' and beeps away, I am forced to use towels or perm press settings.

I have the exact same problem.  In my case, I am forced to use 45mim. setting.  Nothing else works.  The dryer runs about 10-15 sec. and stops.  It beeps 6 times continuously.  Please someone help me.  By the way, it is only 2 1/2 old.

I have the same problem. Just started yesterday ( 29 of April) The machine is only about 1 1/2 years old. Sounds like a thourough clen is needed. Could this be a stuck button problem in the control panel??? Has anybody above solved the problem yet?
    Please help...much appreciated.

There is a moisture sensor by the lint screen, that could be defective.

How do I put my Frigidaire Dryer FEQ1442ES0 into diagnostic mode? It just keeps beeping. Even after I turn it off, it will turn back on and beep randomly.

To put your Frigidaire Dryer FEQ1442ES0 into diagnostic mode, follow these steps:
  1. Hold down the Select and Cancel buttons at the same time for six seconds. After one buzzer sound, the two keys will be released.
  2. Press and hold the Select and Cancel keys for six seconds right away. The display will indicate "r 2" when the buzzer sounds once.
Once you've put your dryer in diagnostic mode, you may run the diagnostic test to find any problems. You can consult your dryer's operating instructions booklet if you require any more help.

I hope this is useful.

Dryer is a week old. ran a cycle and dryer turned off. didn't trip breaker. wouldnt turn back on. so turned breaker off for a while then turned it back on. now dryer powers on but for only like 10 seconds...

A week old dryer should have, in its warranty, a condition that you can get them to exchange this for an identical (hopefully working) model free. Do it now, that is a short time window. It's usually one month.

I have a FEQB4000FSO dryer that continually beeps, running or finished. The lights flash and I can't reset it...HELP! it makes me crazy!

first see where the beeping is coming from you might have a load finish alert setting on your dryer as in when it finishes the cycle it beeps but the contacts might have gotten stuck together so they are making the noise always try first unplugging the dryer for couple seconds than if that doesnt help  get the wiring schametics its usually on the inside bottom pannel your panel should have two or three screws on bottom of the bottom panel and check on the wiring schametics if you have the buzzer (probably name used in the schametics) if yes than try to see where it is so you can just disconnect it
but easiest thing to do is just unplugg it and plug it back in after 30 seconds

Dryer won't turn on for 2nd load

A couple of things is to make sure you have 110v at the recepticle, if you do then it's with in the dryer. It could be the door switch wont close, thermal over load won't reset in your motor(if it got hot enough to open, you said it had been in use) , broken belt switch if your dryer has one, or even the thermal fuse (in series with L-1) opened up. Ohm out the door switch in the closed position, it should read 0 ohms, Same with the thermal fuse, should read 0 ohms, not an open read.Good Luck..MJE

Just to verify does it also beep six times? This model has the actual pushbuttons. Press all buttons lightly and see if any release. Disengage button.
