I have a new LG led tv and new LG surround 2.1. Want to connect my bose accoustamas speakers instead of supplied LG speakers. Have pre wired above new ceiling. Problem is out puts from surround are sub woofer + - plus left and right channels Bose sub woofer has left and right channels in only for unfiltered i.e. crossover inside sub woofer but outputs from surround sound already been filtered into sub + - and L/R mid and high Can you wire Lg surround sound system to Bose accoustamas speakers?

  • Anonymous Nov 26, 2010

Ok Thanks That's good news but how do I Connect?

Lg surround which has 3sets of jaws out to connect their speakers

    1set 3 ohm subwoofer + and -

    2nd 4 ohm front right + and -

    3rd 4 ohm front left +and -

    TO

    Rear of accoustamas

    two inputs 2 jaws +L- and +R-

    and

Two outputs to satalite +left- and +right- cubes

Can I split the sub +and - outputs from LG and splice to front +left- and same for right giving me two left and right channels to connect to the accoustamas inputs left and right channels

ie join the outputs high and low lg as if it hadn't been filtered. Then connect to accoustamas L and R inputs and let it do the filtering

The accoustamas needs the whole range at the module. Then it separates Mid and high to the satalites

    wish I could draw

    Thank you

    John

Yes, there is no problem here. Just make sure the load ratings for the speakers are not below the ohmage allowed by the LG system (4-8 ohms is standard). Your LG system will control the upper limit of filtered input to the sub. The sub may further filter the input with it's crossover, but it doesn't care that the mid and high inputs are absent. (The reason the sub input is marked as unfiltered is to let you know that it can take the full frequency range--not because it needs it) You are getting mid and high or possibly full frequency range to the accoustamass speakers. You should be able to filter the low end out using the LG controls to avoid overdriving the Bose speakers on the low end. Please let me know if you have more questions.

OK, I understand. You cannot split the sub output as it will not like the impedance of being split among speakers. The best you can do if you want to use the low end of your acoustamas speakers is to adjust the frequency range for the left and right outputs to the lowest setting of the filter. I'm not familiar with this particular LG system, but I assume it has adjustable frequency range on these outputs. I had to do this on my 5.1 system, as my side speakers had a pretty good low end to the frequency range. If this doesn't work for you, please send me the model number for the 2.1 system, and I'll do some research.

Can I connect my Bose wave music system to my LG LED TV LB55, lb56,lb62

Of course.

At the rear of your TV, find the Red and White RCA sockets, which are the Audio OUT.

At the rear of your Bose, find the Red and White RCA sockets, which are the AUX IN.

Using an RCA audio cable, connect those 2 pairs of RCA sockets.

Then, on your Bose, select AUX as the source, and if you've done EVERYTHING correctly, your Bose will now be the speaker system for your TV.

see the diagram attached, you can have wrong connection. However clean the contacts and test the wires.God bless you
he speakers are not connected properly. Check the speaker connections. The sound level on the rear or center speakers is turned down. Adjust the sound levels. The receiver is not in the proper surround mode. Set the receiver to a surround mode. The speaker settings are incorrect. Check the settings as per the user's manual.41a9b9c6-64e2-4745-adf3-95fdac1fe686.jpgba7a1620-dfc0-4e45-8fea-6237135735f9.jpeg

How do I connect the Bose Equalizer (for Bose 901 Series VI speakers) to a Yamaha RX-V850 RS? (not as a home theater) Thanks

If you get a second amp for the 901's you can have your cake and eat it in front of the TV too.

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Yamaha-RX-V850-Receivers-manual/id/320bh027/t/2/

Two solutions:

ONE: dedicated 901-RX-V850 stereo-analog-audio only:

If you want to have the Yamaha also support non-901's as the second set of Front Speakers, put the Active Eq in one of the three selectable Tape Loops. That way you can dial the 901 EQ out of the equation and select the 'normal' speakers for your Dolby Surround video experience.

Now imagine this:

TWO: 901's for the Front on a 100wpc stereo amp, your RX-V850 or a nice digital AVR driving center and rear, maybe 'normal' fronts, too

Get a nice 100wpc amp with its own volume control on eBay and slave it off the Yam. Remove the Front Pre-Main jumpers and place RCA Y-splitters in there so the pre-main connection out is maintained but shared with the Active EQ, which is in series with the 901's dedicated amp. Use the new amp's volume to match the 901's to everything else and you just have to turn it on or off to enjoy the 901's along with or instead of the 'normal' front speakers. You could even just disable them at the Yam.

Now for some boilerplate I created to get your creative juices flowing ij case you have a digital AVR in mind for the future:

Having a 901-based multichannel setup myself, I would highly recommend getting the Full Monte for video listening (below)...

In that case a separate stereo amp for the 901's would work. I run a Carver AV-406 (5-channel amp) for my 901's in Front, 2 Subwoofers and the Rear Surround channel, with the Active EQ between the receiver Front L&R Outputs and the 901's amp channels. My receiver controls everything and just drives the Center and Surround speakers.

You could get by with just a stereo amp for the 901's. A Carver M-200 is a good efficient amplifier that would have you cooking just fine (2x100W). Run it with the Active EQ between the receiver Front L&R Pre-Outputs ** and the 901's amp channels.

** Front Pre Out (or one of your analog Tape Outs) >>> Bose EQ Amplifer IN, then
Bose EQ Amplier OUT >>> new amplifier IN.

Then set the new amp's volume control (if it has one, mine doesn't) to something HIGH and run through your speaker setup routines on the Yamaha. After levels and distances are set the Yam will be the boss of the 901's. I recommend sharing or directing any LFE with them. With 901's don't even need subwoofers but they don't hurt.

I've done this in my own setup once. Turn the 901's around so the rear faces point into the listening area. Crank up Master and Commander and when the waves are crashing or cannon are firing you WILL FEEL A BREEZE from them. Now THAT is multi-media!

I cannot connect my bose 901 series v1 active equalizer to my denon av surround receiver avr-891

Short answer from personal experience.

There is no way around this part. Get a separate power amp for the 901's if you want to use them in a multichannel way or alongside non-901 speakers.

The reason: You can't use the Active EQ (or ANY processor) in a tape Monitor loop with anything but 2-channel stereo material. As soon as you activate the loop you lose digital sources.

Adding to YOUR particular problem is that the Denon doesn't have a volume-controlled pre-out to feed that amp. If you want to deal with controlling the separate amp volume manually you COULD connect the Active EQ between DVR Out and the 901 amp IN but you would have a stereo mixdown instead of true front channel from the speakers.

Bummer.

I would like to know how to connect my Bose 901 to my Yamaha RX-V765 AV Receiver.

Ahhh, the good ole Bose 901. (I like those)... And you want to connect them to the Yamaha RX-V765 AV receiver. That should be a piece of cake. I assume you only have two Bose 901 cabinets. If so, you simply need to connect one end of your speaker wires to the terminals found on the 901 cabinets, and the other end of the speaker wires need to go to the Front Left and Front Right speaker outputs of the RX-V765. The RX-V765 is a 7 channel surround receiver. Weather you run it as a 7 channel theatre or as a more classic 2 speaker configuration, you will want to run the 901 cabs from the Front L and Front R speaker outputs, unless for some reason you want to specifically use them for any of the surround channels in which case it will not harm anything if you use them for surrounds - it's just that if you're simply wanting to use them as your principal speakers, you want Front L and Front R.
So connect them as I explained, power the receiver up, put on your favorite CD and enjoy!

No surround sound

It sounds like the speaker wires are mixed up or maybe a setting on the reciever is wrong. Verify your speakers are properly connected. you test speakers using a 9 volt battery or smaller.

No sound from rear/ surround speakers on Bose V20

Yes, very easy and cheap if you get it from the right place. Fiber Optic going from the output of the device to the input of the receiver. If your lucky enough to have an input/output fiberoptic in your tv, run the fiber from the device to the tv input, fiber the output of the tv to the receiver so not only are you getting the device full surround sound, but you'll also get better TV surround sound for those that are made with Dolby pro logic II sound. (pretty much all the newer movies and shows)
