Hi,

If your washing machine has inlets for both hot and cold water, you should connect both if possible. If you can only connect cold water, the washing machine will still work and heat to the required temperature, but it will need to heat the water in the machine, so the wash cycles will take longer and it will use more energy.

If connecting a hot and cold fill washing machine with cold water only, you will need to connect a Y-Piece for it to work:

The tail of the "Y" attaches to the cold water valve on your pipework. You then attach both hot and cold water hoses to the branches of the "Y" and connect both hot and cold water hoses to your washing machine.

Please post back if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

Temputure gauge fluctuates when car is at operating temputure

The radiator might have "air pockets". They cause erratic readings at the temperature gauge. Check the system to see if bleeder valves are provided. If they exist, just open the valves allowing air out of the system while filling with coolant until coolant drips from the bleeders. If bleeder valves are not provided, open radiator cap and fill with coolant. Start the engine for about 30 seconds, check coolant level and fill to level if necesary.

Whirlpool auto load not filling with water to wash, but will go to rinse cycle

There are 2 inlet valves 1 for hot water and 1 for cold. Sounds like your hot water valve is either faulty or the hot water valve to it is off. The machine normally fills with hot water as it doesn't have a heating element to heat the water and fills with the cold water to rinse

Is the indecit wm12x washng amchne a hot or cold water fill?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France @ 13:45 Tues afternoon.

You can easily check by looking at the back where the water pipe or pipes need to be connected. If there is only one inlet then it is a cold fill and the machine will heat the water up itself.
If there are two inlets the hot is normally marked RED and the cold BLUE.
When the hot water is not hot enough for the particular wash, the machine will heat it in the same way as it would heat just cold water. If, however, the hot water is too hot, it will mix in some cold!

My 2001 mercury sable dosent have no heat ive put a new thermostat and flushed my heater hoses and still no heat and today i was driving it and my temputure hand droped from half way to cold and didnt go...

I've only experienced it a few times where the electric cooling fans were stuck on all the time. Its even worse if your car has air conditioning (theres 2 fans). They are behind the rad, and should cycle from off when cold, and speed up when engine warms up. Second fan comes on only with A/C on (which means in defrost mode also). The only other thing is make sure your coolant strength is at least -30o. Straight water or weak coolant strength will not dissipate heat well. When you flushed the heater hoses, did you actually go directly in and out of the heater core? They are known for plugging up, and not a fun job to replace.

Temputure gauge reading low and i have no heat

I would check antifreeze level. if low it wont have enough antifreeze to produce any heat. Maybe partially froze. If so warm up car with heater enough to drain antifreeze and replace making sure you have the right mixture of antifreeze and water for cold wheather. they sell a gauge for pretty cheap that can tell u what your mixture in your car is.

Radiator and reservoir are empty after water pump change.

fill the raditor to the top only when cold, top off the coolant bottle level to full cold, reinspect the coolant bottle after the engine get to proper operation temputure and add coolant to the bottle only. NEVER take off the radiator cap when hot!

Hot point aquarius 1100 - does this have a heating element for cold water feed ? or does is need direct hot water feed ? (there is a inlet at back for both hot and cold so presume no heating element ?)

All Hotpoint washers have heater element regardless of whether they are cold fill only, or hot and cold fill.
if 2 connections at rear, then it is hot and cold fill, if only 1 connection, then it is cold fill only.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.
