We are roasting a pork shoulder in a 6.5 quart roaster oven and have lost the directions to the roaster oven. Do we need to put water in the base of the roaster oven between the oven and the insert to cook properly?

Hi,

No.... you set the insert into the roaster and then place the water in the pan with the pork shoulder...

Do not need a lot of water...just cover the bottom a half an inch or so....

Place an Aluminum foil "tent" over the meat and then place the cover over that...

350 for 2-3 hours... and YUM!!!!

I have an lg convection microwave oven. Can I use foil while using convection roasting?

I have a new Kitchen Aid Convection Microwave with air fryer. I've not yet used the air fryer, but today I put a pan with a roast and set to convection roast and turned it on. I put the aluminum foil over the top of the pan and it sparked. I don't know why this happened. I'd sure like someone to let me know.

My gammon joint is 1.194 kg in weight how long do I cook in the oven for

Based on a 1200 watt microwave. Increase time for less wattage devices.
Place in a large casserole dish with lid and cover with water.
Heat on High (full power) for 15 minutes then 15 to 20 minutes per 450g at Medium power.
Allow to stand before serving as always.

KENMORE ELITE #86013 Microwave/Convection Oven:Manual says always use Metal Rack when convection cooking. How can you cook whole chicken or roast? If you put food on top of the rack it will rub against

Yeah, that's an interesting dilema. You need to lift the food off the tray to get proper air circulation, but I've seen those racks and I understand that you don't have enough room to put a full bird in there! Is that by design, or an oversight? I don't know! And what can you do about that? Maybe you can cut off an inch off the support legs of the metal rack....

What is the highest power setting? choices are low, defrost, medium, roast and reheat. no high???

Most microwaves run high at default, if roast and reheat are given that is your high setting, take one cup of water and run for 1 minute in each setting, the water that is the hottest is the high setting.

Can I cook a stuffed turkey in my Hamilton Beach Roaster Oven, and how long per pound do I cook it?

Hi,

The roaster oven will do just fine... just make sure to have enough liquids in there...

You cannot really go by the pound, but a 10 pounder will take about 4 hours a 15 about 6 and a 20 about 8, at 350... so that should give you a good idea...

I inherited a very old General Electric roaster with no manual. It is in good shape and works, but how do I roast an 18 lb. turkey? When do I start the process and at what temperature.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, I think you will be pleasantly surprised as usually one is able to download, by model number, Customer Instruction Manuals, list of Dealers and Driver downloads as required.

Just Google the manufacturer's name and follow the links. Make certain you are directed to the manufacturer's web site as some search engines direct you to other sites and they charge for the information that is normally free of charge.

I hope this helps.

sounds like the magnetron is dead, cheaper to replace the microwave than get that part replaced unfortunately... unless you can find another of the same model (or compatible) for parts.

How to clean in between glass on oven door

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

I would recommend looking at those exploded views.
