Bad convergence IC's causes chirping sound too. Unplug the connector in the center of the board that connects the left side signal board to the middle deflection board. It's the connector furthest away from you when you're looking in the back of the set. If you replaced the flyback and it still chirps, then your convergence IC's are shorted. After unplugging connector turn set on. Should be ok but just have a pic out of convergence. Change the chips and you're ok.

I have this same problem. I have already changed the fly back transformer which cost $100 from partsstore.com this did not fix the problem. so obviously the flyback is not what causes this problem. so I continue to watch a black screen and listen to chirping onmy beautiful bigscreen. its about to be turned into a fish tank because this is starting to get under my skin!

Magnavox 51mp392h rear projection t.v's power button will blink continuous and there is a low chirping noise. T.V. does not turn on.

The chirping may be the key...When this is commonly the case its a convergence short. See more details on the site www.TvRepairKits.com - Look for a chirping repair kit for your model. Its a common issue

A common problem for these is bad capacitors in the power supply, Remove the back from your Tv and look at the power supply on the left hand side.

You will see roughly around 9 x capacitors that are bulged / domed shaped on top usually these are valued at 3300uf 10V any that have bulged or leaked a brown like substance should be changed.
This will cure the problem as they overheat being sat next to a heatsink that gets very hot!
Try and change them for the same 3300uf but a higher voltage.
Hope this helps

No Sound, No Picture on Magnavox 51MP392H/17

If you hear a constant clicking or chirping sound get the chirping TV repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com

If you have no video - but have audio - its most likey the HVG.

Note: When the video goes out sometimes its hard to tell if you have audio becuase you can't see the screen to change to the correct channel.
