Question about Ricoh ISO1 400DPI Flatbed Scanner

I can't get my Ricoh IS01 scanner to recognize the drivers that came with machine (windows 95 driver). I am running a windows xp system.

Microsoft drivers and installers have changed over time. The ISO1 drivers for XP are available here: http://www.ricoh-usa.com/downloads/downloads.asp?tsn=Ricoh-USA&path=http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/rc2/model/is01/is01en.htm . Click on the down arrow to download the one for XP and then double click on the exe file.

(NT or Win2K drivers can work under XP at times; Win95 drivers are less likely to work even in the compatibility mode.)

You can download the driver for your scanner from Canon here : http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/scanners/canoscan_series/canoscan_d646u#DriversAndSoftware Simply select windows XP from the pull down operating system menu, then click 'drivers' and download the driver.
Next, make sure the scanner is unplugged from your system, and run the driver install program, once it is finished, or when prompted by the driver install, plug in your scanner and it should be recognized by the system.

My cable that came with my ricoh is01 does not seem to be compatible with with my scanner and neither can I plug it into the pc.

The Ricoh IS01 uses a SCSI 2 (50 pin) interface. It should look like the one here: http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-03564-SCSI-2-Cable/dp/B000051312 . There are SCSI to USB converters but I'm not sure if you need a specific version. (Scanners require bidirectional communication with the computer so there were few interfaces that required a special connection.)

Depending on your computer's OS, there may be other issues. (Some may not be compatible with Windows Vista or Win7, for example.) Drivers for some OS versions are available here: http://www.ricoh-usa.com/downloads/downloads.aspx . Search for the IS01 (no other information is needed)

I have a Ricoh Aficio 1515 MF. I cannot get my Windows XP Pro to recognize the scanner, and I downloaded the Twain driver from the Ricoh site. Help! I want to scan into Adobe Acrobat.

Does the machine show up on your computer - you can print?
do you see it in scanners and cameras in start - control panel -> scanners and cameras? what is the status shown there on the properties?

Need driever for xp

have an Acer Flatbed Scanner Model 310P. I've had it for a few years and I really like this scanner. I just purchased a new computer and it has Windows xp as the Operating System. I cannot get the computer to recognize the drivers. How do I download the correct drivers?

If this scanner was previously used on a Win95/8/ME system the likely hood of it working with and NTFS[3000/XP] system is slim. This is because the two system work in different ways and the scanner design for 95/8 does not recognise commands from a NTFS computer. Two thing to try Go to Mt computer/Help/Compatibility and read it up. then right click on the scanner software and click on properties/compatibility and set it to Win98- see what happens You could checkout ACER for driver updates also. But don't hold your breath
