Wiper Motor

Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the four mounting bolts securing the motor to the firewall.
  4. Using a suitable prybar, carefully separate the wiper motor from the wiper linkage and remove the motor.

To install:
  1. Attach the wiper motor ball joint to the wiper linkage.
  2. Position the motor on the firewall and secure the motor with the four mounting bolts. Tighten the mounting bolts to 75 ft. lbs. (102 Nm).

WELL ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS REMOVE WIPER ARM COVERS OVER WIPER ARM MOUNTING NUTS. THEN MARK THE POSITION OF EACH WIPER ARM TO SHAFTTHEN REMOVE ARMS.THEN REMOVE THE WINDSHIELD COWL COVER DISCONNECT THE WIPER MOTOR HARNESS CONNECTOR AND REMOVE THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR LINKAGE ASSEMBLY MOUNTING BOLTS.LIFT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY FROM THE COWL AREA.YOU CAN USE SCREW DRIVER TO PRY THE LINKAGE ROD FROM THE MOTOR.REMOVE THE WIPER MOTOR MOUNTING BOLTS SEPARATE THE MOTOR FROM THE ASSEMBLY.

    Everything is great and logical, but for this world I could not figure out, what you seem to just fly over: REMOVE WIPER ARM COVERS OVER WIPER ARM MOUNTING NUTS.

    So easy to say, but I could not see any nut or how do I get access to them? They seem to be pretty well hidden. Please explain in details.

    FOLLOW WIPER ALL THE DOWN TO THE END OF IT.THERE SMALL COVER THERE.LIFT COVER UP AND YOU WILL SEE WIPER ARM NUT.USE SOME WHITE OUT.MARK POSITION WIPER ARM BEFORE REMOVING SO IT CAN BE INSTALL IN THE RIGHT POSITION.

Does not into 4x4
what type of kia a sportage or sorento if its a old sportage under 2000 you have vacume hubs in front and sometimes the locking hubs break you jack up front and check to see if they lock in 4x4 if its a sorento you have a transfer case motor and sometimes the motor burns

you need to take off the plastic cowling at the back underneath the windscreen there you will see the mechanism for the wipers it will be obvious what is wrong with the linkages if the motor is okay.
