HI
>check the settings on the stereo and see if you have the correct setup: AV 1 ( DTS, Auto, Analog)
If you are using the standard RCA cable (red/White) = Analog
or try the Auto if you are not sure.

I hope this can help
Thanks

I wish to connect the Sinotec 55 to my Phillips soundbar , which inly had one set of Rca inputs , which are bringing sound to it from the Dvd player ?

55 is not the model, 5.1 sound but I will take your word on jacks

many cheap TVs have only HDMI , no RCA jacks Video/audio in/.
and I see yours has the 3.5mm phone jack style AV in
well that really is Audio left/right sound, TRS

so all you do is buy a RCA 2 CABLE audio, TO 3.5MM ADAPTER
AND USE THAT.

pick the gender of both ends. 2 cable to 1, not 3to 1

I cant get any sound I did the trouble shooting

Changing the Audio Output
To switch audio output from the internal TV speakers to a connected external sound system or headphones:
Press 1. MORE.
Press 2. 9 (AUDIO).
Press 3. until the Speakers option is displayed. The Speakers option will display only if an A/V receiver connection has been detected.
Press 4. to switch between TV and either AV Receiver or Headphones.

Check if the MUTE key is on.
• The TV's "Listen to:" setting may be set to SAP (analog program from the ANT input) but no SAP is being broadcast.
• Check that the Speakers option is set to TV to hear sound from the TV speakers. Possibly sound is being sent to one of the audio outputs for an A/V receiver or headphones.
• If using an A/V receiver, check that the Speakers option is set to AV Receiver to hear sound from the A/V receiver speakers.
Press and hold the POWER button on the control panel for 10 seconds to perform System Reset.

I just bought these LS11. 2 speakers about a week ago. My HDMI output is plugged into my tv and was the source of sound for a while. Now that Im trying to plug these in, I can't get sound to come on for...

I'm confused - 1. I know that a speaker does not need drivers to operate - they just need an amplified audio signal to produce sound. 2. An HDMI output has a digital video and audio signal to transfer from a source like a computer or DVD player to a destination, like a TV set or an AV system. You might have a problem with your sound card in your computer. I think you're missing a AV component system in your set-up - like a physical receiver or AV hardware.

My ps3 has no picture or sound...

if there's absolutely nothing on the TV screen, then most probably the video output is different then the cables you are using (eg: video output HD and you are using AV cables). Are you sure your TV is set correctly? like using HD cable you have to choose HDMI or AV cable choose AV. Anyway, When the PS3 is on, turn it off by pressing and holding the power button on the front (so the light turns red) you will hear beep sound ( I can't remember how many but not once). This should reset the Video output to AV. Swithch to AV cables (if you're using HD). Usually if the system is set to AV output and you switch to HDMI cables, the system recognizes that and swithches to HD output. But if it's set to HD output and you are using AV cables, it doesn't switch back; that is what my system does.

Won't play sound out of the AV. 1 and 2

You probably have the av inputs set to digital instead of analog. The easiest way to fix this is to turn the theater system on, turn it to one of the the inputs, then hit menu on the remote. You will cycle through some options with the right arrow until you get to "input", which will offer av 1 and av 2, you can select either one with the ok button. then you will get some more options, analog - optical - coaxial, the first one that shows up is the one you've got currently selected. unless you're using one of the other audio input formats, the system should most likely be set to analog. You will probably need to do this with both inputs.

You have to do this every time the system loses power in my experience.

Hitachi snowy screen and noisy

you have broken solder connections inside the tuner, you`ll need a tech as it is soldered in and once removed the board inside will have to be re-soldered. An alternative would be to use the AV outputs of your cable box or vcr to the AV input of your tv, this bypasses the tuner circuit, you will of course have to go into the tv`s menu and switch to AV 1 or AV 2 whichever input you use, good luck& Happy Holidays
