Projector powers on normally, after 15 minutes the projector flashes random colors then powers off. The bulb is brand new. the temperature light doesnt come on so I dont think it is an overheating problem

Once you replace the lamp you need to go into settings and reset the bulb hours back to zero. That will take care of your problem

"Temp" light is red ,means that the projector is too hot

Sounds like something in the power supply blew. Transistor or diode most likely.

Other then POWER BUTTON light there are three lights more
1. lamp indicator
2. temperature indicator
3. computer input
witch one light is flashing RED or illuminated RED with POWER BUTTON orange light.
If LAMP INDICATOR light is illuminated RED than lamp runtime has reached 1800 hours. but projector still working.
If LAMP INDICATOR light flashing RED than lamp circuit failure, or abnormal function or lamp unit is damaged. In this case projector doing the same behave just like your projector.
if TEMPERATURE indicator illuminating RED the projector still projecting and if flashing RED than turned of itself

If the bulb is under warranty then take it back.

have almost the same problem. lamp light turned on-->replaced the bulb, now when you turn it on tryies to boot and then the lamp light is on again (but the bulb is brand new).... and no light at all coming out of thing... I guess dell just don't know how to built projectors right way.... and theirs tech support guys are.... they just don't know about projectors more then manual

the color wheel is dirty. It just need to be cleaned.

This would appear to be a bulb that has reached end of life -- or the projector thinks that it is because of hours. Usually most bulbs are 1000 or 2000 hours. Depending on your projector there are different ways of checking bulb life hours -- if you Google your projector model number and "bulb life" you will usually get a post on how to check these hours. Also, if it is a new bulb and you haven't reset the hours counter, it may need to be reset (however you also don't want to wait too long before changing a bulb that has reached EOL since they can and do explode sometimes taking out the projector with it).
