When I press the PTT of my yaesu ft-2980, it does not transmit

Check your transmit frequency to make sure it is within the proper range. Also verify proper battery voltage, it will typically transmit with low voltage.

On my tyt 9800 i can hear people talking but when i push the ptt button they cannot hear me

They may be using CTCSS, and unless you have yours set to the correct frequency, they won't be able to hear you. Also, if they are going through a repeater, is your transmit frequency, or offset correct? ,Are you sure that your radio is actually transmitting? Have you tried talking to someone on a simplex frequency?

These are all the things that might be causing your problem. If you do not have any power output, then you likely have a shot final amplifier. These radios will transmit just about anywhere. There a few frequency ranges where they won't transmit, but if you are on the bands that you are licensed for (you are a HAM, aren't you?), the radio should work fine.

My hr2600 shows error 3 when it is keyed up and does not transmit

0 = Transmitter Timeout timer has timed-out
1 = Transmit Frequency is lower than TX Lockout Lower Limit
2 = Transmit Frequency is greater than TX Lockout Higher Limit
3 = Phase-locked-loop (PLL) won't lock at this transmit frequency
4 = PLL is intermittently coming out of lock during transmit
*If your radio displays error 3 or 4, don't keep trying to transmit on this frequency. The cause of the problem could be low power supply voltage to the radio or the radio's VCO loop needs adjustment. Refer to a qualified technician for service. Contact the installer of the chip first. If, however, you installed the chip yourself, contact a qualified technician for service.

My rci ranger wont transmit but it receives great what is the problem

it could be several things......the rf final, bad mic, cold solder joint on the circuit board just to name a few.my suggestion is to find a good local cb shop,if no local shop find one along the interstate hwy most of the time they are located around or near some of the larger truck stops. tell the tech there what the problem is and go from there. good luck !!

Rci 2950 no transmit

check your mic cord to see if you have a broken wire on the inside. You might want to get another mike for a spare but it could also be an audio transister.

Ranger 2995DX

In most cases I have been able to replace a capacitor associated with the power supply, it fails when the voltage is pulled down during transmit. You're more than welcome to ship it in here.

Thanks,

Sideband carrier??

im not sure carriers are measured in pounds, but SSB is a supressed carrier mode, in SSB only one sideband is transmitted and the carrier is inserted at the other end in the receiver. In AM mode the carried and both sidebands are transmitted. with regular am there is a carried and when modulation (your voice) is added a signal appears both above and below the carrier frequency at a distance relative to the frequency of your voice. so if you have a carrier at 1000 khz and modulated it with a tone of 100 hertz the signal will contain frequencies of 900,1000, and 1100 hertz, then its changed to SSB by supressing the carrier (1000) and one sideband (1100) if you are on lower sideband and (900) if you one upper sideband, and transmits the remaining frequency.
