    hi johnyu

    pc boots up fine, it just wont shut down completely!

    i select start/shut down/restart it goes through the normal shut down or restart sequence as follows -

    saving your setting

    windows is shutting down

    once that last dialog dissapears it just reamins on a blank blue screen, the pc is still running

    Hi PCDown,
    What operating system are you using? Is your system updated via Windows Update because as i read some threads, Microsoft has a fix on it.

    Hi Pcdown;
    when you say bluescreen, do you mean blue screen of death? does it have some information on it?

    so basically your pc won't boot up now right?

Hi PC;
try booting up in safe mode then shutdown from there, see if you still hang on the blank blue screen.

to go to safe mode, tap F8 when your pc is booting up.

get back to me for feedback. :)

    Hi PCdown,
    so there was a application in your pc that was not shutdown properly, can you browse your pc and see if you have some software that you use on boot up? most likely some of it are also the ones that would stay behind on shutdown,

    so before you shutdown, look at your taskbar and choose a software there that you would like to manually end the task with and see if you can shutdown properly. hope you can find that piece of software thats been bugging you.hehehehe...

Cannot delete avira antivirus,when i erase in my folder.

You have to delete your antivirus from Add or Remove Programs Section (Start->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs-> Search for Avira and click on the right button (Remove). Just erasing your folder will not completely delete your Antivirus.

I'm trying to install Norton 360. It says it's detected the old 60 day trial, and removes it, then asks for a restart. When it boots back up, it says the same thing again, and I've restarted 7 times now....

Go to Control Panel > add/remove programs and uninstall Norton 360 from there.
After uninstall is complete then proceed with restart and then install the new version.
In case you are unable to remove the software via add/remove programs then reinstall the old expired version (this will repair the old installation). Restart then uninstall via the method given above i.e. through add/remove programs.
This software is a problem when uninstalling..you are not alone.

I down loaded the trial version of Nero 8. and I want to put my old version Nero 7 back on. I cannot uninstall the trial version it keeps aborting half way through it and I do not want to reformat my hard...

I . asked a friend of mine who is a PC Guru and he has a programme for removing it. But and it is a big But!, you have to use the pro gramme first. once you have tried to un-install it yourself it does not work. In the end I had to wipe the Hard Drive and reload windows. Nero Very naughty and I was not a very happy chappy. Previous experience I,d already made a back up of my program mes but it was still time consuming.

I am trying to uninstall nero 7, I keep getting a message saying shellmanager missing or corrupt. I want to install nero 8 but I am unable to until I resolve this problem

Try uninstalling by clicking Start, Control Panel, Add or Removed Programs, select Nero 7, then click Remove, maybe that can solve your problem.

Nero error code

Hi,
First of all if you have the Nero 7 setup file, try installing it once and uninstall from control panel -> Add Remove Programs, after that try installing Nero 8, if this doesn't solve the problem you can proceed with Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup Utility, download that from microsoft website, Install it and Run it, then select all the entries of Nero from the list you get and click on Remove. Then try to Install Nero 8, it should work fine.

Nero 8

U may try a complete uninstall before going into the reg. Use the control panel - add/remove program to remove the program. Reboot. Goto Microsoft updates and make sure you are up-to-date, then reinstall the nero program.
