Apple iPhone Smartphone Logo
Anonymous Posted on Nov 24, 2010

My iPhone 3g died with no warning - I was just looking at a picture and then the screen timed out to turn off and never turned back on. Could it be dirty or something?? It won't make any noises, no lights, the reset button didn't to anything etc.

Download the latest iTunes to your computer and reset the iPhone. Then re-sync it.

Reset

To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.

If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond

  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:

Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

Testimonial: "Perfect. Except that I already did it before I read your post... But holding both buttons for 10+ secs worked. Thanx!"

How to format IPHONE3G.

Formatting an iPhone 3G will erase all the data on your phone, delete all your apps and reset your phone to factory settings. Formatting your phone is a good last resort if you're having software issues with your phone. Keep in mind that the format is permanent and any data irrecoverable.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.Click the "Settings" icon.

2.Select "General."

3.Scroll to the bottom and select "Reset."

4.Select "Erase All Content and Settings." A warning message will display. Confirm your selection. The iPhone screen will turn off then show a "waiting" sign. After formatting is complete, the Apple logo will display and finally your formatted iPhone will reboot.

I charge my i phone over night and after a few hours the battery dies

you should try turning your wifi off, and disable 3g

if you dont know how; just go to settings, general, then network. you'll see the option to disable Wifi if its enabled, as well as 3G. If you have 3G enabled, your iphone will die within 5 hours!! You can tell if your phone is on 3G mode by looking at the top left of it next to your signal bar, and see if there is an "E", a signal strength bar (Wifi), or an E, which is just the standard At&t network that takes less juice to run.

Try it lol

Icons and images just get huge without warning. Can't get them back to "normal" size. Rebooting to change anything. Then, it will "jump" to different apps, also without warning, almost like someone else...

Double tap the screen with 3 fingers and it will unzoom. Then to switch the feature off,
go to settings, accessability and turn off zoom feature.

Hope this helps and if so please vote.

Thanks

Iphone camera screen is green

I was able to solve this problem simply by pinching my phone around the area where the camera is. Don't pinch with too much force, just enough to pop whatever seems to be loose back into place.
I dealt with this problem for a long time and was dumbfounded that the solution for fixing this was so easy. I hope this helps you and whoever else has this problem.
