When I turn my computer on, my monitor keeps flashing OSD Lock out followed by main menu and then repeats the cycle again. It doesn't turn off with the power button, none of the buttons work.

On my monitor it was a stuck 'menu' button. I 'flicked' it with my fingernail and the problem went away.

SOURCE: OSD LOCK

You are having a problem with the OSD lock on your ViewSonic Monitor. Is that correct?
If so, please follow these instructions to unlock or lock your monitor.
On some display devices, there is an OSD Lock that locks all current control settings and prevents access to the control menus until this mode is unlocked.
The method for unlocking the OSD is different for different monitors, but will be one of the 2 below. If the first method doesn't work, try the second.
Method 1: Press and hold both the [1] button on the front of the monitor and the down arrow button for 10 seconds.
Method 2: Press and hold both the [1] button on the front of the monitor and the up arrow button for 10 seconds.
Note: These same buttons, when pressed for another 10 seconds, will lock the OSD

Please let us know if you require any further help with this matter.

If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

SOURCE: osd main controls locked/unlocked pops up every 5 seconds

Why am I getting osd main controls locked flashing and then the same message saying unlocked and i am unable to clear it - posted in Monitors ... the attention osd locked is constantly flashing on and off...

Most of the monitors have a function to lock the OSD to prevent accidental changes in the configuration of the monitor.
If you are constantly getting the message about OSD being locked and unlocked then it means that the OSD locking button is constantly pressed.
Usually it is the "Menu" button on the monitor which is used to lock the OSD.
Check if the Menu button is constantly pressed.

OSD LOCK

Normally the OSD lock will only be displayed for 5 seconds.
Regardless you should be able to get rid of it by pressing holding the up arrow key for 10 seconds.
If this fails to resolve the issue try this. Disconnect power cord. Now press and hold button 1. Plug the power cord back in. You may have to press the power button while still holding button 1. The OSD lock should clear after that.
Hope this helps.
