Took my boost mobile sims card out of nextal/motorola i was useing and put it into my boost phone,can't receive texts messages or phone calls

Hi, issues like this are related to your Sim card (network),
not your Cell Phone . In most cases, regarding the text messages,
the problem is from the Service Operator. Have you tried the Sim card on another phone? If not,
remove the Sim card, insert it on another phone and try sending a message from another mobile to you number,
or you can do it in vise- versa by inserting another Sim card on your mobile.

If you can't receive text messages even when it's inserted on another handset,
then you will need to call the customer care of your Network Operator and tell
them your problem, they will help you fix it immediately.

You can check the message center number, but I don't think
it's very much important in your case, well, if you wanna try,
just check the text message settings and verify that the message
center number (which is currently in use) is the same number which
is on another phone with the same network (the other Sim should be
of the same network in your area). If it's different, make the changes
and save the settings. Also disable the "Receive Via" or similar settings..
(I can't recollect the exact settings as i don't have the same model with
me, please excuse me for this.).

If the same Sim card doesn't receive text messages using another handset,
don't bother to change the settings or to make any changes with it,
first call the customer care and verify from them, you may make mistakes instead of fixing it.

When you take your battery out of your phone it automatically erases call log/sms etc unless you have saved them in a save folder.

although boost is a ppd version of nextel, the sims cards are different and are not interchangeable between devices........you can contact SprintNextel and they will give you the "subsidy unlock" code, which is the special code required for your device to stop looking for a specific sim card. If they wont give you the code then you can google "motorola instant unlock" or whatever brand device it is and chose from the large list of web services that can send you the key for just a few dollars. You do not need to "unlock" that blackberry.  If you put your boost sim in it the phone calling and direct connect will work immediately.  Getting the txting and internet to work require you to install other service books.  Try this link http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1530734  which explains how to remove the old books and add the correct service book to use mms and internet.

I'm sorry to tell you, but an ic902 can never be unlocked to work properly on any other system - to include the Boost system. Here's why. The ic902 is a hybrid phone. That is, it uses two different cellular systems to operate. Specifically, voice calls on the ic902 are placed over the Sprint CDMA network and Push-to-Talk (PTT) calls are transmitted over Nextel's iDEN network.

Boost Mobile calling (both, voice and PTT) uses the iDEN network from Nextel. Thus, the ic902's radio transmitter (which is CDMA) cannot make calls on the Boost ( iDEN ) system.

Moreover, if you plan to use Boost Mobile, I STRONGLY suggest that you NOT purchase a Nextel phone and have it unlocked to use for Boost.

Although Nextel and Boost phones seem the same - they are not. If you look at the model number of Nextel phones most of them end in a zero. (ie., i850, i870 etc.) where Boost Mobile Phones end with the number five. (ie., i855, i875, etc.) This is because the transmitters in the phones are set to different frequencies for different purposes (like for texting.)

If you go to eBay for example, those who sell unlocked Nextel phones to use for Boost (if they're honest) will inform potential buyers in their eBay listings that their unlocked Nextel phone will not (text, for example) on the Boost network. These unlocked Nextel phones will have limitations when used on Boost.

To prevent problems down the road, ALWAYS purchase a Boost phone to use on the Boost network.

I am going to have to side on the No side. Some phones have a small limited memory to store these messages, so when that space runs out, the system removes the last text to make room for new ones. I had a friend with a Moto Q on Verizon (CDMA = No SIM) and it was her biggest complaint.

My advice is to erase all the messages you dont want as you get them in, that way this wont happen.

Also, backup the phone, you can find the utilities online. Verizon does offer a backup service in their cloud for your address book. I know you use Boost, which is owned by Sprint (not verizon as you indicated). Boost uses the Nextel technology of Sprint which is iDen. That is closely related to GSM.

Net net...call your service provider that is your only option. I am sorry.

If this your motorola i855e is a Nextel phone, then not all the features will work very well if you put in a Boost Mobile sim card. Features like Texting, Web browsing are not likely to function very well or at all. Get a Boost phone for a Boost sim card. Cheers.

I called Boost support about the same issue and I was told that that particular phone and any other Ic series phone by motorola will not work with Boost Mobile. There was also a few other phones that will not work. Try calling thier support line and requesting the list of phones that won't work. Good luck.

I had the same problem but I have nextel. I called them and they just told me to send all text messages as 'MEDIA MESSAGES' and it works!
