I have a 3300hp bought it new in may it has been in the shop every month sence. iv taken it to 6 different cb shops and no one can fix it it will recive well but when i talk on it people can barely here me if i get 300yrds away from who im talking to they cant here me at all

well fellow truck driver here goes. When you take any radio back to a repair shop they are required by law to set it back to its original settings. I could fix it for you if you ever got to Massachusetts but you need it now so I would tell you this.Take it to a very good cb shop , tell them what went on and that you would like that big radio sound back. thats it.

that is simply bs, Ham radio shops rarely like CB people (I am a long time cber and also a ham.

On that radio there are two things you can do, look for the mod limiter and remove it or another more simple thing:
This radio comes with a 1000 ohm element in the mic--like speakers---Get a older or new 500 ohm microphone and wire it or have it wired for the 19 dx, it will make a big difference in how it sounds.

I not only worked on those radios but sold them in a shop I owned.

You might find a used mic that's 500 ohm, it is usually stamped into the back case of a mic.

truckers also like it to have 300+ watts,, and don't tell them what you have and see the difference. lol

also the stock mic's are tinny sounding. trade it off for a good power mic like a cobra 75 $17.99 or any type of echo mic $35 i think.. those will make it sound like a big radio.., also check the SWR's !!!!! free at any cb shop to have them checked .. we don't charge unless it needs parts.

Did they set the swr on the new antenna for you? check the installation of antenna system. make sure the insulator is ontop of mirror mount. Check SWR's.. use a dummy load on the coax and check it to make sure its ok..... if you had bad swr before you changed antennas the rf finals may be bad in the radio. simple $10-20 repair.@ a Decent shop. don't pay more than that. have them check the swr's they should do it for FREEEE!!!.. unless theres a problem like cables,mounts bad ie...also have the radio checked that should be FREE too to have it checked on a bench.. i don't charge unless theres a problem, and the customer wants it fixed. here in temple, tx hwy 95&fm93....

there is a store in Heidenheimer, TX they do repairs. you can do a google search for cb shop temple, tx... its the one on hwy 95 & Fm 93, whatever you do, don't goto exit 306 shop they will over charge by 90% markup.... the one on hwy 95 in temple,tx will have the best prices in the state. guaranteed they are open from 5pm till evening not sure when they close. Mon-Fri. and call them for saturdays and sunday hours.

a repair shop should be able to do this for you, they can put a resistor in line and add a knob to control it

do what im about to do and throw it in the bin... these phones are pathetic and LG wont take responsibility for their crappy workmanship... all u get form the technical support is "what was the exact date u purchased it" even if u tell them its like a month out of warrenty...

I would definitely take it back for a re check. If the radio took a good bump perhaps it can cause it to drift off frequency. Turning the channel while holding his mic keyed does nothing but just throws a dead carrier. No value what soever. RF Gain is just to improve his reception by either lowering or raising the sensitivity of the receiver of the radio. Squelch is to silence the hissing sound you hear when no one is talking. Care must be taken to not to adjust too much or you wont hear anybody. It wont help his transmit audio at all. Recommend you get another Radio Check from someone else. He could be pulling your leg saying you don't sound good. Best regards and hope this helps some......................John.

Poor ground shield, or poor solder joint in mic cable.

Why do you have to fix it? If the local CB shop looked at it last then take it back to them its their problem.
