The stove looks like it has no power and none of the buttons for the oven work nor is the clock on but when I turn the knob for a burner the clock will come on and there is a short buzz but nothing heats up and the oven will not heat.

The brand and model is Frigidaire FEF357B Freestanding Electric Range and the part # is 316259186. I can't find any fuses but the buzz is coming from the board and it just does it for a split second when I turn the knob to turn on a burner. If I turn on the burner the oven settings work on the display but the oven itself won't heat.

Is that the information you are needing? Thanks for your help!

I sent you an email. If you didn't get it just let me know. Thanks

Thanks for your help. I found it, whoever installed it did not tighten the wires coming from the plug and because of that it burned one of them out.

To give you the right information, brand and model is needed. also if its electrical plus gas, or just electrical...Now if you get power to the clock usually the clock works all the time.. if you have knowledge with a voltage meter I sujest you test the main power to the main device. in some cases there is a fuse of somekind. you must test for continuaty. test for power to the knobs and when you open the know you should have power on the continuing wire. test the knob from one end to the other for continuity by turning clockwise and counter clockwise. if there is continuity you know it works fine. then test for main power. test for continuity, then test for main device power.consult a voltage meter instructions if you dont know how to do it.

TEST FROM THE BEGINNING TO THE MAIN STOVE. THE BURNERS ALSO HAVE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS THAT OFTEN GO BAD BECAUCE OF THE HEAT THEY ARE ALWAYS EXPOSED TO. I JUST REPLACED SOME OF THEM ON A STOVE. FOR THE SAME REASON AND WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. IF YOU PROVIDE AN EMAIL ADDRESS I WILL EMAIL YOU THE DIAGRAM WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT TO TEST FOR AND HOW TO TEST IT. YOU WILL SURELY FIX YOUR PROBLEM. MINE IS [email protected]

IT SEEMS LIKE IT IS YOUR CONNECTIONS TO THE BURNER.. IF ITS ELECTRICAL

My clock does not work on my stove

Hi Jason. Have you performed the following actions?
Electronic Timing Center (Analog Clock w/Digital Display)
Synchronizing the analog and digital clocks
1. Press the "timer" and "start time" buttons simultaneously.
2. Turn the set knob to move the hands on the analog clock to any time setting.
3. After five seconds the display will go blank. Press the timer button and using the set knob, set the digital time to the exact time on the analog clock. This will synchronize the two clocks. You can now set the time of day.
Setting the Time-of-Day
The time-of-day must be set before any other program can be used. When your oven is first connected to the power in your home, the digital display will show 00:00. To program the time-of-day:
1. Push and hold the "timer" and "bake hours" button at the same time.
2. Turn the "Set" knob until correct time is displayed on the digital clock.
3. Release "timer" and "bake hours" button
The analog clock will automatically set after the digital time is set

Let me know so that I may follow up if need be.

My oven wont turn off from the knob it keeps turning

You didn't say whether you have a gas or electric oven, or oven & stove. I'll assume you have a stove, just to cover all bases.

First, you should shut down the oven: a gas stove will have a valve on the gas line behind the stove. The valve will either have a red handle or a flat stem that usually has a hole in it. Turn either valve 1/4 turn to shut off gas, use a wrench on the flat stem. An electric stove should be shut off by flipping off the double circuit breaker for it in your electric panel. Do not unplug an electric stove when it is on; this can damage the plug &/or electrocute you.

Most likely the inside of the knob has stripped out. Look at the knob for a hole that has a setscrew in it: a small allen wrench or screwdriver will loosen the setscrew, most knobs don't have them and will pull off. Be careful to use even pressure on two sides of the knob; if you can't pull it off, use two butter knives or flat screw drivers to pry it up enough to get a grip on it.

Look at the center stem on the back of the knob, it will likely be cracked or stripped. Some stems have a D-shaped metal insert that strips out inside the plastic stem. If you have one, pull off a burner knob and compare the stems in the back, if they are the same size, put the burner knob on the shaft for the oven control, and use that knob to turn the oven control off.

If the burner knob won't fit, use your fingers or a pair of pliers (gently) to turn off the oven control shaft. If the shaft stops normally, you can turn the stove back on using either the gas valve or the circuit breaker. If you have a gas stove that doesn't have electric ignition (a clicking noise when you turn on a burner) you may need to re-light the pilots for the burners. Lift the covers off the burners to re-light the pilots.

If you have succeeded in turning off the oven, you need a new knob -- you can get one at an appliance parts store or maybe a hardware store. If the oven control did not turn off normally, I would leave the oven/stove turned off: the control itself will need to be replaced by a qualified repair person.

WE have a GE Stove top Range. The burners aren't

If you have power to the stove as in the oven light works and the clock works but the burners and oven will not work you only have 120 volts coming to the stove. The stove requires 240 volts for the burners and oven to work. Check the service panel for a blown fuse. There will be 2 fuses in the fuse holder. One of them is blown. If that is not the case then one of the wires has come loose either in the service panel or in the outlet behind the stove. Use a multimeter to check the input voltage at the outlet.

Stove/oven not heating up after replugging in.

Power supply is most likely burnt. It has capacitor's inside that will fry and overheat. last possible cause would be faulty control panel.
